I just ordered delivery from this place and got beef drunken noodles. The noodles tasted weird and off, like spoiled meat. I called the restaurant asking for the reason and a refund because they are literally inedible. He told us the taste is due to “lamb juice” which they supposedly add and if you don’t want your beef noodles to taste like lamb then you need to tell them beforehand??First of all, since when is lamb juice a known ingredient in drunken noodles? Second, when someone orders beef why are you adding in lamb? Not to mention the beef was extremely chewy and overcooked. This restaurant clearly made a lamb dish, forgot to scrub the pan between dishes and then tried to cover it up. He offered me a credit for the next time I order or he could send another one right away. I don’t understand why you would add lamb if the menu doesn’t specify it and a person orders beef. Stop LYING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS and take responsibility when you are wrong. Your menu on YOUR WEBSITE says drunken noodles are sautéed flat noodles with eggs, onion, bell pepper, carrot, basil, and chili paste. Nowhere does it say “lamb juice”. If a person is allergic to lamb and they order beef, they expect beef. Not for you to send them to the hospital. Never ordering...
Read moreGreat food, though they made some small mistakes that slightly detracted from the experience.
Ordered online through Yelp. They delivered 30 minutes early, though that didn't inconvenience me too much. The food was securely packed. They wrapped the soup container in plastic wrap. Strangely, the brown rice was also wrapped in plastic wrap, inside the waxy paper box.
The tom kha soup was great. Definitely worth a try even if you don't normally like Thai food. The optional meat didn't connect with the rest of the dish, however. I chose shrimp, which was slightly dry and was probably cooked separately. The shrimp tails were left on, which isn't uncommon, but it seems like a poor choice for soup. They also left a piece of shallot skin in the soup.
I ordered crab-shrimp rolls, and got chicken-shrimp dumplings. They didn't call me about it, so they might have either run out of crab or gotten the order wrong. I'm not too picky about these things though, and I thoroughly enjoyed...
Read moreI ordered take-out from Uthai restaurant, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Their Pad Thai just won the award for Best Pad Thai in Queens, and after trying it, I can see why! The noodles were perfectly cooked, the balance of flavors was spot on — tangy, savory, and slightly sweet — and the portion was generous.
Even as take-out, the food traveled well and arrived hot and fresh. The packaging kept everything neatly in place, and nothing felt soggy. I also tried the green curry and spring rolls, which were just as delicious and full of flavor.
The staff was warm and friendly. If you’re in Queens and craving Thai food, this is definitely the spot — and you must try the...
