First of, I think that the 1 star review is inappropriate - that reviewer admits to having had NO commercial transaction with the venue (which the star rating system is designed to express). Had they approached the owner and not gotten to a resolution, only then, perhaps, they might consider building a case in the court of public opinion. Now, regarding my personal experience ... we have had the pleasure of working with the owner on many occasions over a 10+ year period. She (Nadia) is transparent, trustworthy, extremely resourceful, quick, decisive and extremely customer-focused. When we approached her for our party hosting needs, she listened to our needs, showed us what she and her team have done with the place to make it a roomy, modern, bright and comfortable environment to host a party. By the numbers: we had 100+ people, comfortably situated over a 8 tables, + a kids table. In preparations for our event I also learned that she caters a non-profit event for the community and people in need, 2x annually, which goes to show where her heart is. As part of our selection process, we had interviewed multiple flower decorators, magicians, music entertainers, all of whom know Nadia and are frequent suppliers to other parties held at this venue. Given her many years in the business, unsurprisingly her list of business contacts and associates is quite rich, and she is super helpful. She "gives herself" to help set your expectations and aids you in properly planning your event. She also has amassed massive learnings and gotcha's on ways to help improve the overall guest and host experience, i.e. she has experienced kitchen and service staff whom she is in constant communications with regarding what works and what might need fine-tuning (i.e. during our event we needed help in one area and her staff quickly sprung into action with zero questions asked). She has a variety of menus to select from and continues to make improvements by offering an iterative approach to what is placed on your table, all for the enjoyment of guests. The architecture of the venue is quite convenient, too. You walk into a deep hallway, with restrooms to the side, and 2 separate rooms easily accessible from the hallway. The bridal suite is located conveniently next to the main ballroom, allowing for extra storage, should such be required. Her technician and modern computing equipment are well-equipped to handle lighting needs, and the 4 extra large monitor displays are synchronized to display an array of video montages that you might want to serenade your guests with. Like anything, it helps to prepare, and I've made a number of visits to conduct "dry-runs" of digital content I'd been planning to infuse our event with -- and Nadia had been extremely open and welcoming to allow for absolute confidence in how my digital content would render in the ballroom. Bottom line: if you're looking to host an event at a beautiful one-of-a-kind venue, that is roomy, with phenomenal vibe and unobstructed airflow, properly thought-through points of ingress/egress for wait-staff (situated diagonally across from each other), a reasonable stage with digital screen, and 4 additional extra large monitors throughout, as well as room for floral / balloon arrangements for photography, conveniently located in the heart of Rego Park, then look no further then Versailles Palace. And now We hired Nadia for our son’s wedding, BEST DECISION EVER!!!! Nadia saved us a lot of money. She knows everything; Band, DJ, flowers, decorations, Photography, Videographer, liquor, wedding cakes, even stylist and makeup artist, shows, fireworks etc… Everything was beyond amazing! The food was bountiful, beautiful, and delicious. The service was unmatched — no glass was left to get empty — really, really happy with everything. Additionally, the personal attention leading up to our big day was beyond all expectations. Your guests won't be able to stop positively talking about the wedding, food and service -- ours haven't!
