The place has an A Letter Grade. It is small & a little cramped, but it is clean & the service is polite. It is a relatively popular place - I never see it packed nor empty. The best thing about this place is that they accept debit AND credit card!!! It is refreshing to enter a chinese mom & pop store that isn't cash only. I honestly can't remember the last time I've been to a Chinese restaurant that accepted any type of card. The flyer menu layout is generally understandable, however some sections are missing the price. Additionally, the "Drinks & Breads" sections are lumped together for some reason; the prices for any drink is not listed nor the size options available, plus none of the bakery options are actually listed, just the words "breads" & "buns".
The meals are disappointing. They tend to be dry & flavorless & just leave you feeling like it wasn't worth the price. After 2 tries of the food, haven't felt compelled to try again. However in defense of Tasty & Co, my family & I tried two other Chinese restaurants before this one & never returned to those other two, so I think that says something! The only thing that has got me occasionally purchasing from here are the baked goods offerings. The prices are good & the portions suffice. The roast pork bun & the pineapple red bean are the best buns in my opinion! While the buns at Fay Da have more filling & are sometimes cheaper - their pork buns are also served hot, Tasty & Co is still a good place to try when you get a craving & aren't able to go to Fay Da. Lastly, the bubble tea. The large cup is indeed a large cup, but it is a pretty common price for bubble tea these days. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they also make bubble tea slushies - while the slushies at Nam Tea are tastier & more refreshing, the slushies here are a dollar less & still yummy! The price of slushies at both places are fairly common prices, however it is still nice to know Nam Tea isn't the only bubble tea & bubble tea slushie...
Read more1️⃣ of the worst Chinese Restaurants I been to in NYC which looks desent❗️⚠️ First of all I ordered a "House special fried rice" 🥡which comes with everything. How they charge me a extra dollar💲 for bean sprouts which comes with the rice even if you don't order a house special fried rice. I never heard of that or had that happen to me in any Chinese food place I been to in my life, especially in NYC❕️🤦♂️ 2️⃣ my chicken & food tasted old like it was expired & under cooked. 3️⃣ The worst part of it all was that I got "FOOD POISIONING"⚠️☠️ that night & I kept throwing 🆙️ all night till the next day, from the morning till the afternoon non stop throwing 🆙️ that nasty food❗️⚠️☠️🥡🤢🤯🤮🥵🤒😡🤬 The Health Department should look into this place to see if it's old expired foods, old cooking oil, dirty in the back, checking that the food is cooked right & not undercooked & cross contamination, before more people get sick❗️I will NEVER eat here...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem in Rego Park. You need not go to Flushing or Chinatown to taste authentic, well prepared Chinese dishes. You can get them all from this down to earth restaurant. Their fried rice and noodles are amazing and I highly recommend their Jumpo Shrimp with Walnuts and broccoli, their Salmon Terriyaki and their Wanton Noodle soup. This restaurant is complete with high quality baked pastries and bread. We love their Chocolate roll, portugese egg tart and raisin bread. The service is excellent. The person tending the cashier, the chef and the delivery person are all friendly and are very reliable. Food comes well packed, clean and flavorful complete with condiments you need. They are very efficient and fast. You get a lot of value at their price point. Twas one of my great finds when I was exploring the area...
