Belgian bar is one of the best bars by NYU. I say Belgian bar, because in college I had no idea what its real name was; that's what everyone I've ever spoken to has called it. You go in on there's an outdoor area with seating and a bar that's closed unless they're packed, and then there's a dark, indoors area with more seating and a full bar. All the beer is from Belgium or is Belgiam-style, as you could expect: Hoegaarden, Chimay, Lindeman's, etc. Some of the beers are fairly common in the city now a days, some are more rare. Between the tap and their bottle selection, if you're a beer enthusiast you should be satisfied. Prices are good considering that these beers are much stronger in alcohol content than normal beers--and more satifying. I've their frites a few times which are good for bar food; I wouldn't try anything else. Service is good at the bar, less so if you're at a table outside. This place definitely has that cool "craft" bar vibe to it if that's what you're looking for. I've had some great times here in college just hanging out, and it says something that I continue to come back when I'm...

[Very] dimly lit bar in the Village with an average beer selection. Great for a date night, music isn't loud at all so you can actually have a conversation.

They lost my credit card here, I think they gave it to the wrong person. I came back the next day. They spend 10 minutes looking for the card - it was evident they recall seeing it at some point - but told me they couldn't find it. They then printed me a receipt with an auto-charge tip. This is standard if you leave your card behind at a bar... but, they fully admitted to losing my credit card. I was a bit shocked that they thought this was in any way acceptable. After complaining they removed the entire charge, which I appreciated. However, there was no apology for...

Last Saturday I went here from my fiance's birthday. She is always like this bar and wanted to bring a bunch of friends here so we decided to check it out. The waiters were nowhere to be found and when we finally did find them it seems like they were angry that we had disturb them from whatever they were doing. All of the drinks are incredibly overpriced and the seating is uncomfortable. There were some chairs that honestly had no backs on them. It seems like the staff was irritated by the patrons, their jobs, their lives, and the whole experience. I have to say I would agree with them. I will probably never go back again. Needless to say, I was...

Strange but interesting little bar. Easy to miss it because it's entrance is tucked into a small alley type of situation. Beer selection is good if you're specifically looking for Belgian style; otherwise, you only have a few options. We went on a Saturday night and only a few tables were filled, which made the vibe feel a bit off, made worse by the fact that the bartenders acted like we were making their lives miserable by asking for two pilsners. But hey, the red lighting was cool.

A very nice Belgian bar that has been around for over ten years. You can get your Delirium Tremens and Frites fix here. They have really nice outdoor seating and two levels indoor. They have an excellent selection of beers from Belgium. I often bring folks visiting me, here, as part of their tourist experience. It's in the West Village, so one can easily hop over to another one of the many bars in the neighborhood for continuing revelry.

Came here for drinks on a Friday night with a large group of friends in January. We were able to grab a bunch of seats by the door, which was great but it was a bit cold. We had several orders of fries, which were delicious. They were served with both ketchup and mayo. The white wine selection was a bit limited, but I guess that’s expected at a beer garden.
