If I could give 0 stars, I would. We placed an order through Uber Eats and waited over an hour and a half without a single update. When we finally reached out to Uber customer service, they informed us that the restaurant was closed — something we had no idea about. No call. No update. Nothing.
But the worst part was calling the restaurant directly. Not only was the person who answered incredibly rude, but they insisted that the Uber driver had picked up the food and basically dismissed us. There was absolutely no accountability or effort to resolve the situation. We called twice, and both times were met with the same rude, dismissive attitude.
We were left starving and frustrated, especially after waiting that long. A refund doesn’t make up for the ruined evening and wasted time. We had to scramble last minute to figure out dinner, and the way we were treated made it even worse.
Looking at other reviews now, I see similar complaints — and while the owner claims the rude staff is “no longer there,” it clearly hasn’t changed. The woman we spoke to showed zero professionalism or empathy and acted like we were bothering her for simply asking about an order we never received.
This place needs to take a hard look at their customer service and how they manage third-party delivery platforms. If you value your time, energy, and mood — AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. For the owner: The food was ordered on June 27th at around 9pm (Friday). Because I wouldn’t want a wrong person to get fired. Ps. They have a different name on uber eats: it’s sushi yoshi Astoria. I double checked their number,...
Read moreFor what it is - it’s a great go-to for inexpensive teriyaki and other asian foods.
Ever since moving to Astoria - AWT has been a reliable “comfort” meal + pick me up. Prices aren’t ridiculous and every meal definitely (a) fills you up + (b) satisfies that teriyaki craving.
I’ve been meaning to explore the rest of the menu, so I try to get something new alongside a teriyaki meal.
This time - i got the green gyoza (fried). Honestly, i loved the crisp exterior and soft filling. The edamame inside was definitely a pleasant surprise!
The teriyaki, itself, is nothing exceptional - but again - it leaves you satisfied and full. (Okay, maybe done get the noodles for +$1, the rice or fried rice is definitely the better choice)
Their teas/juices/boba are also fairly priced at least similar to what everywhere else charges) and make for a great Summer drink.
I’m a big fan of the kiosk ordering station as it makes checking out super easy and accessible. If you’re expecting a fancy, sit down service - this...
Read moreSaw this new spot popped up on my grubhub and decided to try it out this afternoon. Ordered soy glaze Korean fried chicken and the Purple potato Boba which were both so delicious.
The Boba was decadent, the pearls were fresh and the presentation was eye catching! The chicken was super fresh even for delivery, they separated the sauce for you to add later to preserve it's crunchiness.
Made a funny mistake of not adding the sauce and just just eating the normal chicken and it was so flavorful and savory just at its base and adding the sauce livened it up so much more adding that sweet tangy signature flavor.
For a place that looked like they just recently opened up they are blowing it out of the water as a new fresh and tasty option!! Excited to try out...
