I've been coming to this White Castle for around 20 years and I've never really had any problems with the food or the service. If anything, the few times I've had problems they've just been weird due to having to deal with drunk patrons wanting a bite to eat before heading home. I realize that tends to happen at just about every fast food restaurant that's open after midnight, but it seems to happen more often at this White Castle in particular. Aside from that, there are no real problems with this location.
I felt inspired to write this review due to the service I got when I decided to buy a 30 slider crave case yesterday night. I'm sure many of you reading this will think it's irresponsible to be going out to purchase fast food during a pandemic, but seeing as how a shelter in place policy has yet to be officially enacted and no other customer was there, I felt secure in going in and out to buy food here.
In particular, I felt really good with how one employee treated me. I'm not sure if she's a supervisor or just a senior employee (she was wearing an all black uniform), but she saw that I was standing on line and even if she wasn't by the cash register, she still asked me what I needed and she immediately got to work. Any other person wouldn't have done this at all and it made me feel appreciated. Seeing her work, she was dedicated and eager to get me my order as soon as possible. It made me feel happy and service like this makes me want to keep coming back.
In general, when you come to White Castle, you're generally here for the sliders, that's it. I usually go with the regular fries and chicken ring as sides, so I really can't say how the other menu items are.
Due to never really having problems with the food that I've previously ordered, I'm sure that the rest of the food's fine. There's a wide variety of sliders to order, but I usually just stick to bacon cheese sliders with extra pickles. Seeing as how they're much smaller than your typical burger, I'd say you should at least have three to feel satisfied. I could easily eat 5-10, but 6 is usually...
Read moreVegans rejoice! White Castle has made a bold statement to the world and done a great service to plant-based peoples by incorporating a plant-based slider on their menu. This legendary meme-worthy regional slider chain is now a go-to spot for non-meat eaters. Who would have thought? This is a great sign for things to come at other chains as well.
When I went to this White Castle on a drizzly Friday midnight, it was packed with people, and every person there was ordering Impossible Sliders, White Castle's new vegan option. The staff here is super friendly and the place overall provides a cool fast food dining experience. There is a parking lot there which is really convenient, and a busy drive thru.
The Impossible Slider is a plant-based vegan patty that allows vegans and curious carnivores to enjoy the experience of late-night White Castle indulgence sans carcass. At 220 calories per slider (without cheese), these things are a great option for on the go vegans in NYC. For a snack, have 2 sliders. For a meal, have 5. If you want to go the traditional route, go there at 1 am and order 20. Just like their classic meat counterparts, these sliders go down easy and no matter how many you eat, there will always be room for more.
The Impossible Slider has a unique taste and texture compared to other veggie patties. I'm sure many carnivores would not flinch while eating it if you never told them it was plant-based. The sliders are fun to eat and taste pretty good. The buns are fluffy, and the pickle and onion add a nice crunch and flavor kick. I don't like ketchup, so I replaced it with barbecue sauce and/or honey mustard, which was good. Some sort of special sauce or some more veggies or some vegan cheese would improve the slider in the future, but I'm just so happy White Castle has provided this option at all. Vegans must remember to order the slider without cheese.
I applaud White Castle for their exciting plant-based contribution to the fast food world, making budget-friendly plant-based food available to the masses. Other fast food...
Read moreHORRIBLE.Food and service is usually ok as long as it with the staff anytime between the hours of 7am-7pm. Anything after that is now questionable after this last tragedy. Went in about 6:45am. There were two Asian ladies in there. One tall lady and one short lady. The shorter lady is the reason for this nightmare. Not only did I observe her handling money with the same gloves that she used to prepare cheeseburgers with but she also handled the garbage AND wiped the counter with a rag containing god knows what on it! The rag was clearly wet!As if that was ridiculous enough, the taller of the two was preparing cheeseburgers.apparently she made a mistake and put ketchup the order she was working on.When The shorter of the two saw the mistake she started scolding her and in a fit of rage grabbed the top of another bun and scraped the ketchup off every single cheeseburger! Suppose the person of that order is allergic to ketchup? Not one time did she even FATHOM to change her gloves as she was rushing through the orders as if the place was crowded. There was no one in the lobby except for myself and two cars in the drive through so there was no reason for her behavior. I will not return to this White Castle.this is forever sketched in my brain now. That’s it.White FILTHY...
