This is by far my favorite vegan restaurant. If I had to vote to go here or somewhere else, this spot would get my vote every time. I always get the same thing, pumpkin soup, Indian pancakes and Pad Thai. All are so good and tasty especially the Pad Thai if you're a noodle person. The sweet and sour, and general tso are to die for as well. If you are a mushroom person, try the jade mushrooms with ramen noodles - it's a good combo. If you want something that taste like McDonald's chicken nuggets then go for the crispy soy protein as an appetizer. For dessert, peanut butter bomber is so rich, and delicious if you are a chocolate person. If you're not then hands down get the pumpkin cheesecake!!!!! Place is very clean and relaxing environment. I go here often with my family and friends. For the comments about the staff, they are super friendly and nice if you get to know them. The guy likes to joke around which makes the night even better. Go ahead, vegan or not this place is the bomb!!! You'll leave full, satisfied and maybe even addicted to come back.

The food was inedible. I ordered the black pepper seitan lunch special. I have ordered this many times from other Wild Ginger's. There was so much pepper in the sauce, it was almost black. There were three pieces of seitan that were shaved down from the original sized piece so essentially one and a half pieces of seitan cut into slivers and 3 slivers of oyster mushroom. I wiped the sauce off so as to eat. The broccoli and rice were soaked in sauce, had to toss. The spring roll was mushy and the miso was bland. If I closed my eyes, I would think I was drinking salt water. I *rarely* leave reviews and I have never left a bad one but this was really disappointing and a waste of money. NYC has a lot of amazing restaurants and vegan ones at that. Do not waste your money or appetite here.

Don’t try to go here on a Tuesday because despite listed hours on Google, hours listed right at the front of their website homepage, and hours listed in the footer of their website, they are not open on Tuesdays. There are separate hours listed on their “contact us” page that say: Sun to Thurs : 11:30am - 10:30pm Fri & Sat : 11:30am - 11:00pm Closed on Tuesday “Sun to Thurs” doesn’t make sense if you add “Closed on Tuesday” at the bottom.. Also, if you order on Tuesday, they will still accept the order and charge your card and then you get nothing. *I will consider updating my review once I’ve actually tried the food*

I've been coming here since they were on Bedford Avenue. They moved a few blocks away, and their business has dropped off somewhat, which is a terrible shame, because they're a really good place.

This however works out well for us - now you can always get a table, so they're our "go-to" place when everything else is crowded.

It's likely the reason that you're coming here is because you're a vegan and if so, you are in for a real treat. There's a very wide menu, and over the years I've tried pretty well everything. Nothing was bad, which is rare in restaurants - most were very good and a lot of them were excellent.

There have been too many excellent dishes to list, so let's just name our favorites. I love the Singapore Mai Fun - that's a dish I really missed when I stopped eating meat and they do it so well that it's better than the meaty version - moderately spicy, slightly dry noodles, juicy veggies and "fish" slices. My wife's favorite is the Basil Fried Rice - just what you'd hope for, all green and lovely with peas and other treats, and very spicy without being radioactive.

And we both love the peanut butter bomb. Wow. If someone tells you vegan desserts aren't any good, this is the dessert to show them.

100% recommended...

THIS PLACE DESERVES A MUCH BETTER RATING THAN I AM SEEING. I will start there. I lived in NYC on and off for about 10 years (just moved back!) This place is one of the few that comes to mind when I’d be in other parts of the country and think of things “you just can’t find outside NYC.” It’s vegan Chinese and Thai food that is GOOD!! Like when you want the actual experience of Chinese and or Thai dishes, but don’t want to eat meat - this will FULLY give you that. It is an EQUAL experience to eating great, meat-based Chinese/Thai food and genuinely not lesser in any way! It’s truly delicious and filling (and protein-based!) Since I was just in Brooklyn for the first time in a while, I decided to stop by and order something. I ordered the general tso’s vegan chicken dish and it was AMAZING. I had to get on here and write something because this place has a special place in my heart and some recent-ish negative reviews are actually extremely inaccurate and I’m upset about it. Anyway, go here, it is GREAT vegan food, and just great Chinese/Thai food in general. (Oh and leave a review if you can! The negative press that’s bringing their ratings a bit down is actually uncool and inaccurate in their instance and we...

I really wanted to like this place But than I tasted the food For a place that says it's healthy The food was bland and then I felt the oil. I asked what oil they used and they said, vegatable oil ( canola oil). Not a healthy oil and it is used to keep prices down, coconut oil, olive oil, avacado oil are healthy oils.. Canola oil, not healthy. The music was horrible I wanted to turn it off, top forty pop music completely clashes with the vibe. Could someone program something relaxing, traditional, not frequencies that make me just want to leave. The service was slow, I had to ask several times.

If they improved the quality of the ingredients of their food, as well as the music and service it would be a place I would eat.

It's sad but I will never go their again, New York used to be good with good now I've experienced more than my far share of sub par more so with the price points.

I highly encourage the staff to improve the quality of food ( organic cold press oils spend the extra 3 dollars or 10 a bottle)

And the music ( relaxing please)

Than maybe I would try it again, until than may as well eat the vegan food at McDonald's because there is no actual difference except the...
