If you're planning on having a wedding here and you have more than 50 people, don't. Just don't. I went to a wedding there recently and it was by far the most terrible experience I've had at a wedding. Firstly, you're in Williamsburg Brooklyn, so good luck finding parking for your out of town guests. Sure there's a few parking lots but they're around the block. No valet or any parking on site. The ceremony was another bad experience. I had to climb through a bush to get to my seat. Again might not be a problem with a smaller party, but I didn't have that experience. Next the cocktail hour. Good luck finding passed horderves. There was only 4 options and I could barely find the guys. Next for the reception. Me and my party we're seated in basically another room. I could not see from my seat anything that was happening, this includes the band the dance floor the speeches. Nothing. I stared at a brick wall. Awesome. The food was served in such small tapas style portions that I didn't even feel like I ate anything. Mostly because our options were salmon, grilled zucchini and flank steak, you didn't get a nice large piece of fish or steak or vegetable, everyone got one small piece of each. Don't like fish. Too bad. You're now going to be left hungry because the piece of steak they gave you was thin and very small. It gets even better, because after dinner was served they removed all the tables from the main room to open up the dance floor. That right. If you sat in the main room you just lost your seat from the reminder of the evening. Lucky for me I was in the side room, but once I got up to dance and try to have fun I came back to my seat occupied by a poor elderly woman who was unceremoniously kicked out from her rather nice table in the main room. As for the maitre'd, he kept nagging the band, which was a 7 piece set with horns to stop playing so loudly. He even threatened to unplug them in the middle of their performance. I don't know what happened the rest of the night because me and my party had seen enough. We left early and went to find a decent pizza place in Bay Ridge. In conclusion, if you choose this place 1 bring a small party. 2 don't come hungry because you're not going to eat. 3. Hire a DJ who plays soft music.
I would not recommend to anyone ever. I don't care about your reclaimed wood or brick or anything. This place was a terrible venue for a...
Read moreAt the very beginning of our wedding planning process, MyMoon was already one of the top choices for our venue from seeing how beautiful the space was in photos. After visiting the venue in-person and meeting the staff for the first time last year, we knew right away that we were making the perfect choice to host our wedding here. A month after our wedding, we couldn’t imagine having such a wonderful, special event happen anywhere else.
From the start, Lee and the rest of the MyMoon team were so kind, accommodating, and thorough as we navigated the planning process and the many intricacies of hosting a wedding. Even with the countless details to plan out and coordinate, Lee and his team were patient, communicative, and so helpful along every step of the way. They made everything feel so seamless and perfect, even in the final few days leading up to the wedding with some last-minute requests and changes.
MyMoon itself is a dream, and truly made our wedding feel like such a magical evening. The space is gorgeous and brimming with personality, and with around 80 guests at our wedding, the venue gave us the perfect balance of hosting a spacious yet intimate event for all of our family, friends, and loved ones. So many of our guests complimented the venue, saying that they loved its attention to detail, numerous spaces to explore and hangout in, and the overall vibe.
The food was simply phenomenal across the board and a welcome change from typical wedding meals, while still catering to a variety of tastes and dietary needs. We were thrilled to have so many different options available to us, and had the opportunity to sample it all during our tasting. Along with the atmosphere, our guests raved about the food and already are planning to come back to try it again. (A special shoutout to the fideua, which was one of the biggest hits of the night)
Overall, MyMoon perfectly complimented the vision that we had for our wedding, while going above and beyond our expectations in every way possible. We cannot thank Lee and the rest of the staff at MyMoon enough for making our wedding such a memorable evening, and we can’t wait to come back for our anniversary in the...
Read moreOne of those few moments I wanted to give 5 , because of the service we received. The place was full when we arrived and everyone wanted to sit outside because of the wonderful weather. It was in the upper 70s and the place was buzzing. Of you never been here, it was a boiler room way back in the day. Original converted to a Turkish place and then more Hispanic. Lots of salsa and pachanga playing in the background, but not too loud. You can have a normal conversation with anyone. Rima the hostess is so sweet. She found us a niche to relax for drinks and food. She is Australian and apparently works many hours and she looked so exhausted. I offered her peppermint tea and when the traffic finally died down, she did me the favor of having a sip. You can see her stress level drop from a full days work. There were 3 obnoxious women who were there asking for the owner. They were rude, and not nice. I saw Rima trying her best to accommodate them and they were just nasty. The place was full and they were quite demanding. They were there for a long time and when they finally left, Rima went over to say goodbye. These 3 girls with no manners could barely acknowledge them and never once any eye contact. I hope they don't know the owner personally because then he would have bad taste in having friends like these 3 nasty women. The basil drink is fantastic and the amor caliente drink was a little sour but I enjoyed it. Also ordered the mushrooms, had a tiny spicy to it perfectly matching. The charcuterie board was full of amazingly great tasting meats and cheeses. Our service Jose was very professional. Our drink dropped but he still kept it on the bill. I did not complain, it was our fault. Except the obnoxious women who apparently knew the owner, it was a fantastic evening and warrants more visits especially...
