This was supposed to be a special night for our 5th anniversary and we chose Wolfgang's Steakhouse due to it's close proximity to where we were staying. I'll start by saying that the table we were seated at had a leaf on the table that was hanging and resting on top of my legs, I'm 6'5", which was very uncomfortable, when I asked the waiter about it, his solution was to lift it up. This was even more uncomfortable as it was now making contact with my midsection. I didn't have room to push back because I was already sticking out into the isle due to my size. I eventually moved to the side of the table which didn't allow me to be across from my wife. Then the food came, the salad, and appetizer were fine, however the main course was a huge disappointment! The fillet mignon, which did not look like a fillet mignon, was by far the worst that I have ever had, it was dry and crispy on the edges but basically raw in the middle and had no taste except charred. After having to ask someone to get our waiter, because he never came back to the table, we explained our issues with our steaks. His solution was to put them back on the grill. We pointed out that it would dry them out even more, but he insisted that it wouldn't. Needless to say what we got back was basically an unedible piece of meat! When he finally came back to the table and asked if everything was ok, I said that I couldn't eat it, it was burned; he didn't care, he just brought the check! I am still apologizing to my wife for ruining our Anniversary dinner! What's even more concerning is that we witnessed a manager visiting tables around us asking customers if everything was ok, not once did he bother to visit our table even after we had to send our food back. He walked by us several times, and at one point even stood next to our table holding a conversation with a group if waiters but never once looked our way. I paid my bill in full, but I definitely did not get my money's worth! I'm sorry but based on my experience tonight, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreHad dinner tonight and was disappointed. Let me tell you about my experience. My wife and myself took my granddaughter to see Aladdin's matinee and since I work right across the street from Wolfgangs, my wife was excited about going to have dinner there. We've been there before and it was excellent. We got there about 5:00 and were seated promptly, even though we did not have a reservation. The waiter was courteous and attentive when we sat. We placed our order and the appetizers were delicious. Since we were sharing them, the waiters should have given us sharing plates, but we were fine without them and used the b&b plates. I asked the waiter if we could get the hamburger for my granddaughter and he said that's not a problem. My wife and myself ordered the ribeye's. When the entrees arrived, one of the ribeye's and the burger were overcooked. I ordered a medium rare and it was closer to medium well, tough and chewy, not what you would expect. My wife asked for medium and hers was correct. I was so disappointed, that we switched steaks partially through the meal, so at least we were able to eat. Mind you, during all this time, the waiter never came over to the table and ask how our dinner was. Most steak houses make sure the temperature is correct at the time it's served or moments after....My granddaughters burger was overcooked, grainy and dry. When one of the servers came to clear the table, I told him how disappointed we were and he said he would let the manager know. Mind you, we haven't seen "our waiter" since the apps went down! I asked for the check and then finally the manager appeared and offered complimentary desserts. I told him I appreciated the gesture but no thank you. We go to a steak house, for steak, for free dessert. A free crème brulee doesn't take care of the issue. The steaks were inconsistent and the quality was lacking. Being in the business, I understand there are issues with the purveyors and quality. The unacceptable part, is that the service staff, from top to bottom, doesn't...
Read moreI recently had what should have been a delightful evening at Wolfgang's Steakhouse in Times Square, but it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience, marked by shockingly poor service and rude management.
My wife and I had a reservation for 7 PM and spent over $400 on our dinner, which included two salads, two drinks, two ribeye steaks, an order of steak fries, and dessert. I even tipped our waiter over $60. The food was great, and we enjoyed our meal up until the point we had to leave. My wife was not feeling well, so we packed our leftovers—a full ribeye steak and fries—to take with us. However, in our haste, we forgot the bag at the restaurant.
Once we realized our mistake at the hotel, I quickly returned to the restaurant, hoping to retrieve our food. What followed was a truly disheartening encounter with the so-called "manager." She was extremely rude, showing no empathy or understanding. When I asked about our leftovers, her response was dismissive and unprofessional: "We can't read your mind" and "This is an upscale restaurant." These comments were not only condescending but completely uncalled for. Her attitude suggested that she had no interest in providing any assistance or finding a solution.
As a paying customer who had just spent a significant amount of money at their establishment, I expected at least a basic level of courtesy and an attempt to help resolve the issue. Instead, I was met with hostility and a blatant lack of respect. It's one thing if a mistake happens, but the way this manager handled the situation was unacceptable.
While the food at Wolfgang's Steakhouse is undeniably good, the abysmal service and disrespectful management overshadowed our dining experience. I am extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who values decent customer service and a respectful dining atmosphere. Spend your money elsewhere—at a place where both the food and the service...
