I came here two days before my second visit and they gave me the wrong drinks for both the meals. I thought maybe it was an isolated incident. The food was good and still hot when I got home. My g/f wanted to have the same order two days later. I ordered online with the 50% off coupon. The order was placed at 6:45pm and said it would be ready between 7:03pm and 7:20pm. It only takes a 10 min walk to the Astoria location. So I left 7pm, thought the order would be close to ready by the time I arrived. I let the attendant know I was waiting for my meal and waited. Its now 7:25pm and it still didn't come out. I let the attendant know I was still waiting. It's now 7:35pm and still waiting. Checking the order on my phone the time kept moving later. Now it's 7:45pm and still no order. I asked why it was taking so long and the attendant had no answers as to why. I asked for the manager and all she could tell me was it was a Dinner rush which I could understand but I'm still waiting here and this is unacceptable while everyone else was coming in and out. All the manager can do was apologize. I was getting frustrated at this point. She tried to bribe me with a desert. I asked don't you have a window time to have orders ready. She could not explain why again. She looked at my order on the tab and for some reason thought I had ordered a Brisket sandwich and I said mam I didn't order any Brisket now she was confused. Finally the bag came out, so before I left I check to see if anything was missing and behold one of the Chicken sandwich was missing. I had to get there attention and they were like it should be in there and the manager was puzzled and went to the kitchen to find it. She kept apologizing. I said this is no way for a new food location to start screwing up. Now we are ready to eat and all the food is cold. The sandwiches had no tomatoes just lettuce, no ketchup, all this is listed on the receipt. I find this to be a royal screw up, I am...
Read moreWhat an experience.
I ordered from Tejas BBQ once before and, hey, nothing to complain about. So my girlfriend and I figured—why not give Wonder dine-in a shot? We’d been curious for a while.
Ordering? Quick and painless. I went with the trusty brisket, and my girlfriend ordered a salad. Here’s the epic novel of a salad she chose:
Romaine; Marinated Tofu; Cabbage, Chickpeas, Chile Garlic Broccoli, Dill, Raw Red Onions, Roasted Sweet Potato; Fried Shallots, Pita Chip Crumbles; Coconut Lime Dressing; Pita.
Yeah, it’s a lot. A salad with a personality.
A few minutes later—boom! Text says the food is ready (in about 3 minutes). We’re impressed. We get the food. My brisket? Eh. Not life-changing, not offensive. It existed. No complaints.
Now, the salad.
Or should I say: the pile of romaine and cabbage formerly known as a salad. That’s all she got. No tofu. No chickpeas. No roasted anything. No dressing. Basically, a rabbit’s sad lunch. Missing like 8-9 ingredients. HOW?
Sadly, we didn’t take a photo of the minimalist art piece. A kind person at the counter took it back to “fix” it. I, wisely sensing doom, started eating my BBQ because… let’s be honest, we just knew.
Ten minutes pass. I’m done eating. Still no salad. So we ask for a refund.
Plot twist: No manager. No refund. No explanation. Just vibes. Apparently, the person helping us had zero authority to do anything about it. Offered us “anything” on the menu though. I almost got Ribeye from Bobby Flay.
We left. Texted Wonder. Luckily, their customer service is lovely and issued a refund for...
Read moreCool concept, but honestly won’t get from here again once the promotion is up. If I didn’t get $15 dollars off these orders and a free trial, it wouldn’t have been worth it. Sorta maybe wasn’t anyway. Nothing tastes bad by any means, but portions are kind of skimpy for the price. I believe this is like a cloud kitchen spot, so most of this stuff is premade beforehand and likely a lot is frozen, so it’s not like you’re getting fresh cooked meals. For the same amount of money you can get way more fresh food elsewhere. $7 for 6 dry, cold and tough onion rings. $10+ for 6 boneless chicken wings that are same quality you’d get in the freezer at the supermarket - except it would be a big bag. Just felt like things were small for the price, especially the dips and sides. Maybe I’m just cheap but when you know you could have gotten the same exact premade thing from the supermarket, it kinda makes it less enjoyable.
My first order was better than my second one, which came on time and hot. But second order was cold and felt real skimpy. I was missing an item, and didn’t get a full refund. Just half. Not sure if that’s item price/size specific or not.
Tejas has this really nice carrot soufflé that’s similar to crustless sweet potato pie. Enjoyed that a lot. Tho, they refuse to part with the Carolina Gold bbq sauce. No matter how many I order they always give 1 less. It ain’t real gold, y’all. I paid for it, just put the...
