Wyckoff Starr Coffee Shop — Restaurant in New York

sometimes i run to Bushwick--maybe that's symbolic of my need for an escape from Lower Manahattan or just a desire to be in a different neighb. either way, my coffee waystation of late has been Wyckoff Starr. it's a very small shop--eclectic, artsy-ish, & welcoming. there are a couple of seats inside but to me that's the incentive--go out and explore Bushwick with "a damn fine cup of coffee" in hand. there's a menu of coffee drinks plus a selection of savory as well as sweet eats. while the interior is a tight squeeze if too many people walk in--the layout is uncluttered and has character. an Americano, here, has been more than adequate for that hot caffeine kick with roasted java flavor. the staff is genuinely friendly. the nods to "Twin Peaks" are...

My iced chai latte with oat milk was so good! The barista girl was a sweetie and very pleasant, good at her job. Their baked goods are tasty also. Got the banana bread and scone. Only downside was the older cashier gentleman with beard. CRANKY and IMPATIENT. My sister took seven seconds to decide which croissant to get and the guy almost had a heart attack. I was in town for work and made my way from Greenwich Village to Bushwick JUST for this coffee shop. I am a die-hard David Lynch / Twin Peaks fan and this spot was first on my list as soon as I was free and let me say, it did not disappoint. Theming is lovely and well-executed, cute nods to TP all over. My iced latte was delicious!! And both the lady & gentleman at the counter were extremely warm and nice.
