So thankful they are still open knowing this year has been hard for local businesses.
I remember when they were on the corner attached to House of Yes and getting ready to move to their current location. When they finally did it was such a treat! The menu expanded to better suit indoor dining while maintaining the flavors I had come to love.
At the beginning of the pandemic we would go once a week for take-out to support and get our fix of good food. My favorite is the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. The pickled cauliflower and grilled onions are a perfect marriage of flavors.
My partner loves the Shakshuka. Harissa, eggs, tahini, and grilled pita: what's not to love? Served hot with a bit of spice. If he doesn't get this he really enjoys the Lamb Burger for a meal on the go. It's hearty and still with a kick of harissa.
If you do go, work your way through the menu to find your favorite. I've had everything here and was not disappointed.
As a side note: the owners have been really diligent in maintaining the safety of their guests and staff during the pandemic. Masks, gloves, sanitizer, and distancing are all spot on. Cannot wait to be able to sit down in their beautiful space again, though doing take-out makes me...
Read moreAbysmal service, bad attitude. I ordered (and paid) online for pickup of 4 sandwiches and fries at 12pm, app confirmed and promised food by 12:10. Arrived at noon and a tall, bearded guy said they never received my order, they just opened, it wasn’t their problem, it would take 30 minutes to prepare the sandwiches, and I should call the app company to cancel. I responded that this was for a lunch meeting and there was no time for me to find another place and order in time. The beard made no apology for the lateness, no promise to make the food asap. Instead he acted disappointed they actually had to fulfill my (paid) order. Food was ready at 12:30. The shawarma sandwich was ridiculously heavy and oily. Za’atar fries were greasy and tasteless. Botttom line: food was meh and the ‘service’ made Tel Aviv sandwich shops seem warm and cuddly by comparison. I went here so you...
Read moreI’ve been eating here since it was a “hole in the wall” (old location, 6+ years)
Lately, every experience has been a painful one—Dine-in & take-out. From long wait times to increasing prices, I think I’ve finally hit my wall with the Queen.
Today the price for a side fries has increased to $5 and the actual quantity of fries has decreased, so much that I’m writing a review about it.
What’s bugging me is that they only increased the price of a “side” (from $4-$5) but if you look on the printed menu… an order of fries remains $7.
They’ve up the price of a “side” so much, that it only makes sense to upgrade to an “order” and this feels… not good.
It now makes sense as to why the bartender “threw in a free side of hummus” … to go along with my literally (15) pieces...
