I tried the Chinatown location and they are both ok. For the price of congee and rice roll I would not go back again. The congee at Fu Kee (which closed) is way better. This place lacks flavor and why is there lettuce in the congee?? Did I order a vegetarian congee or what?? It’s basically their way of saying it’s a filler for the small portion. Anyway, why is there veggies in my rice roll too?? Let’s just say this place is not for people who don’t eat vegetables. Congee was still hot til the last scoop - warms up the heart, can’t wait to return in winter.
Steamed rice rolls were large and tasty. Personally not used to cabbage in them compared to dimsum version, but it grew on me. I’m a bit of a purist so I didn’t think beef+shrimp was better than just shrimp or just beef. Personal favorite was the secret sauce (peanut butter sauce and hoisin)
