I had the pleasure of visiting A&J Caribbean Taste today, and without a doubt, it was a phenomenal experience. My anticipation was high as I traveled all the way from NC to Newark, NJ, in search of a true authentic Caribbean taste. And I must say, A&J Caribbean Taste exceeded all expectations, leaving an unforgettable impression on my taste buds.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the warm and welcoming ambiance. The vibrant colors, and Caribbean-themed décor, set the stage for what was to be a remarkable. The staff was friendly and attentive, and their genuine passion for Caribbean cuisine was evident from the moment I stepped in.
The menu at A&J Caribbean Taste is a delightful fusion of classic and lesser-known Caribbean dishes. After some recommendations from the friendly server, I opted for the Curry Chicken and Stew Chicken with Roti's and Pholourie two signature dishes that are staples of Caribbean cuisine. Each dish was carefully prepared with a perfect balance of aromatic spices and rich flavors, transporting me to the tropical islands with every mouthful.
The dish was a harmonious dance of flavors, taking me on a culinary adventure like no other. I was overly filled.
Overall, A&J Caribbean Taste is a true culinary oasis for anyone seeking an authentic Caribbean experience. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the remarkable dishes that celebrate the essence of Caribbean cuisine, this restaurant truly stands out. If you find yourself in Newark, NJ, or even if you have to travel from afar like I did, I highly recommend visiting A&J Caribbean Taste. It's an experience that will undoubtedly leave you with cherished memories and a craving to return for more of their exceptional...
Read moreI'm giving this place 3 stars because they had a nice range of options. I came here based on an Instagram review, and I have to emphasize that everyone's tastes vary, so take reviews with a grain of salt. However, if you enjoy that texture, it might suit your preference. One major concern was the heavy use of Asian 5 spice blend in the lo mein, giving it an authentic taste, but it lacked other seasonings and vegetables like shredded cabbage. I also sampled the jerk chicken, which was decently seasoned and well-cooked. While it's not the traditional style cooked on smokers, it was...
Read moreNot sure if it’s a race thing but I got nothing but attitude when I got there. It was me and my husband time getting food from there so while he was at work I had FaceTimed him so he can see what all the food they had. The guy behind the counter was so nasty and kept rushing me. I explained that it was our first time so we needed some time for I decide. I guess I took too long because he started taking other orders and when I was finally ready he gonna tell me that I took too long so now I gotta wait. My husband changed his mind so quick and told me to leave. So I did. For it to be a new business you guys really shouldn’t be so rude. As much as I love Guyanese food I will never step foot in...
