Oeno — Restaurant in Newark

The airport felt like it was a little over 70 degrees. I wasn’t alone as I wiped my forehead of sweat and searched for a cold beer to help me wait for my next flight. I understand that they have no control over the airports air conditioning settings, but the least they could do was serve me a cold beer. Instead, I got a room temperature 60 minute IPA. I asked for a water with ice, I got a tepid cup of water. My caesar salad was weak. The dressing was practically solid and it was weirdly salty for a salad. Weirdly salty. On the bright side, maybe all that salt helped replenish my electrolytes. You’ll be tempted by the open bar area you’ll see, but there’s a reason why there are so many open spots. My secret to making an airport bar an elevated experience is to always ask the mixologist to make their favorite cocktail using Top Shelf spirits. Oh my, my, my! Although one made me an L.I.T and the other made me a Rita, both cocktails were on point cuz they made what they do best. The L.I.T was so good it kicked in by the time the lamb burger arrived, and I could only drink half the Rita. Yeah, I was feeling lovely in at the EWR bar I had to get cake and coffee to bring it down a notch. Ordering and paying for the food using the QR Code on the table made it breezy. The food came quick and was delish! I was fed, slightly "pickled", and boarded my flight prepared to handle any in-flight turbulence LOL!! A special shoutout to Roger who greets me with a warm smile and makes me feel right at home. His attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism turn an ordinary meal into a wonderful experience. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and I truly appreciate it. Every time I travel, I make it a point to stop by this restaurant — it’s truly one of the best spots in the airport.
