On 12/23 I visited this location to try PJ's coffee with the motto of PJ's that they roast their coffee beans in small batches for a unique taste - this was not the experience I encountered. I ordered the Peppermint Bark Iced Latte and a Caramel Crème - Hot. Both taste like water and milk mix with syrup. They were both missing the coffee taste/coffee flavor, and coffee experience that PJ's expresses about their brand. Also, the Peppermint Bark Iced Latte was not served with the peppermint shavings which is false advertisement. As a brand it should portray their motto however it could be the franchisee and quality control issues. I did have a conversation with the worker whom said she worked their for 2 years - which I thought "okay she knows how to prep the drinks" - however that coffee taste was not there - again this is not the barista fault - I highly believe it is the quality control issue. Even "bad" coffee has the coffee taste. This experience of coffee was just water down...

Finally, a place that knows what a cappuccino is! After wasting over $15 trying to get a proper cappuccino somewhere else—where I literally had to explain to the staff how to make one—I found PJ’s Coffee, and it was a breath of fresh air.

No explanations, no drama. I ordered a cappuccino, and I got a real cappuccino: well-pulled espresso, milk at the right temperature, and a proper creamy foam on top. Just like it should be.

Places like Pão Da Terra should take notes. A cappuccino isn’t just hot milk with weird foam. Want to know what a real one looks like? I can send you a photo of this one.

Props to PJ’s Coffee for doing the basics right: quality, skill, and...

I was doing some work here today and had a lovely experience. The honey oat milk latte was delicious; not too sweet. The spinach feta pastry was absolutely divine. More importantly, the staff were super nice and friendly. While I was heads down working, they gave me beignets on the house. Those were some of the best I’ve had- flaky texture and just the right amount of sweetness.

One time, an elderly customer stood up looking for napkins. The staff immediately noticed and pointed to where the napkins were. All in all, the food AND the people there are great. This is now one of my favorite...

I just moved recently to Newark, It's kind of hard to find a peaceful place at Newark where you can work/study in a nice clean place, The croissant is unbelievably delicious, Had the pleasure to meet the owner in-person, a modest nice person. Someone who understands true customer service, adding to that they have a very nice book-shelf. They offered me to read/borrow any books without restrictions. "Newark deserves something like that". Please keep up the good work..
