We couldn’t say enough great things about Shipp Brothers Brewing! We had already been to SBB in the afternoon a handful of times and had positive experiences, however this evening solidified the very unique spot this is.
We came in very close to closing time knowing it would be hit or miss for us to snag a beverage that close to their closing time, as with my personal experience working in the service industry, last call is typically 15-30 minutes prior to the actual closing time of an establishment. However, we were beyond pleasantly surprised (and truly shocked) to be greeted by the owner explaining that the kitchen had just closed, however we were welcome to stay and have drinks- on him free of charge! We said that definitely wasn’t necessary as we hadn’t intended to order food and were only wanting to grab a beverage- yet he insisted.
The owner Aaron went above and beyond to not only insist on picking up our tab, but again, after attempting to decline, explain he never minded doing so in order to keep his staff respected (and let’s be honest, there are so many customers that are not always mindful or respectful of operating hours of an establishment, nor staff/restaurant etiquette and think it is totally okay to walk in 2 minutes before closing and expect full service- if you’re reading this and this is shocking to you- it is totally not okay!) Anyhow, after the complementary beverages, we chatted with Aaron and the servers about different things happening in the area and they were completely in the know. It was a breath of fresh air on so many levels.
Shipp Brothers Brewing is the example of establishments you want in a community! A place where the owners and staff very visibly support their community and the people that live in it. And that is not even mentioning in detail the incredible beverage selection, menu selection, ambience and dare I say all over “vibe” of the restaurant and brewery! If you haven’t checked this one out, definitely do! Top...

Shortly after my first review was posted I was contacted by a manager and wanted to know the details of our visit. He was polite, apologetic and professional. I was impressed.
We decided to give Stein Brewing another shot. Man am I glad we did!!! Tonight we went back and it was amazing. Everyone was friendly, food was amazing and service was top notch! Our server Sam was outstanding!
I believe our first experience was a total fluke and we will be back to Stein Brewing.
Our recommendations:
Drinks: SBC Punch and SBC Sour were both amazing
Apps: Tater kegs all the way!
Dinner: Nashville hot chicken sandwich, Cod sandwich and the Hangover burger were favs tonight!
Went to Stein Brewing tonight for my daughters birthday and unfortunately did not have a good experience in many aspects.
To start, the hostess was incredibly rude. It was busy for a Sunday evening and we completely understand that. We had a party of 6 and the hostess immediately had an attitude when we told her how many people were in our party. She made it seem that we wouldn’t be able to be seated before they closed. We asked for a time frame and she rolled her eyes. Even though there were empty tables she tells us “well we can’t push tables together” which we never asked her to do. We even told her that we would sit separately if needed. She did sit us - but had major attitude. If it wasn’t for the fact that it is we my daughters birthday and she wanted Stein, we would have left and never returned. Since it was her birthday, we went with it.
We sat down and our waitress was nice. Our appetizers were cold and my son in law had a long hair in his drink. The rest of our food was fair.
Overall, I don’t know that we will be back. We love supporting local business and I rarely give negative reviews but it was not a...
Read moreUnfortunately last night we had a bad experience at this restaurant. We were excited to try it out but now we will never come back. We placed our order and waited for the food to come out, my husband made his own burger. Pretzel bun burger with 2 cheeses, bacon and a fried egg, mushrooms and onions with a sauce. Got the food then noticed the bun was different than our Pretzel bun so he looked in his burger make sure it was his burger. Didn't have the egg, bacon or one of the other cheeses he had asked for. Also the bun. We waited for our server to come back which didn't happen for a while so we waved at another server to asked if maybe there was a mistake and he got someone else's burger. The server then said well your server is currently on line cooking since some people didn't come into work and she will see if she can find ingredients we had order. As if it was our fault. We never knew she was also cooking or that they might not have the ingredients. So my husband simply said can I at least have a fried egg. My father in law got his on his burger so we know they had them. She said we will see... and walked away. Then came back with a butchered fully cooked egg threw it towards my husband on the table and said there your server cooked it. Like we are the issue. I then said something to her. I told her look I've been a server and that was totally uncalled for and unnecessary. She did apologize and said she took it out on us and was sorry. We asked for our bill we were already kinda done with the whole thing. We paid 104 dollars for everything. The egg the bacon that we never got as well. I'm sorry but this was the worst service I had seen in a while. I get they are short staffed I have been there before. And we are very understanding people. If she had told us that prior to her going back and starting to cook. We were just very...
