I am the founding president of the Midland Theater. It is a gem of a theater in downtown Newark, OH. I had a board of amazing professionals that help create the legacy it is today and, I hope, always will be. In an agreement the Longaberger CEO, our nonprofit received the Midland and the Sailors and Soldiers Auditorium. We donated the Auditorium to the city who in turn razed it. Today it is the land the Licking County Foundation park and building occupy. The opening of the Midland was star studded with a well known TV star and comedian sold out two shows. The volunteer ushers, from all over Licking County wore name tags with their hometown on it (ala Disney). As a result, they encountered old friends. The reputation of the theater spread, our first executive director, Mike Morris, was the perfect person for the job. He tapped into talent that included Allison Krause and Union Station, Tim Conway, B.B. King, Bob Newhart (Elf), and many others. The Midland is sound perfect, ornate, and first class. See a show at the Midland! Support it! Help it continue to grow. Newark is a special place with a special...

This was my first time to the Midland Theater. I came to see the group Home Free. They are a country A cappella group. The concert was fantastic! However I had bought a UVIP1 ticket. I have seen this group 76 times. Many UVIP 1 tickets. Never have we all UVIP 1 and VIP 2 Q&A ticket holders been kicked out of the venue after our session. We have always been allowed to stay inside the venue and stay in our assigned seats until the doors open for regular ticket holders. Our tickets were already checked at VIP. But we were kicked out and had to stand in line again with all the other guests. We were told there wasn’t enough room. There was plenty of room for the VIP guests to wait in the lobby or in our seats. The lady who kicked us out was very rude. I drove from Maryland to come see Home Free. I will never come back to this Theater again. I only gave 5 stars because of the actual concert it self. The venue staff I would give 2 stars....

i go to shows a lot & this has to be the best theater i've been to! very well organized, clean, & most importantly the volunteer staff was incredible! i have severe allergies & brought that to the attention of one of the younger staff members & she was incredible! communicated my concerns to the other staff & reassured that i'd be kept safe. there was also a lot of security which was fantastic. i typically have to also deal with people trying to sneak vapes which i refuse to be around, but i didn't even see anyone try most likely due to the amount of security watching!:) i drove 3 hours to see Murr last night & the experience was well worth it. i would absolutely come back to this theater!! the only suggestion i have is whenever there's a meet & greet, i think all staff should be well informed so they can answer questions sufficiently. thank you for the awesome experience, especially to the girl, she knows who she is!!! very...

We went to the last showing of the Central Ohio Youth Ballets production of The Nutcracker. It was a great show. The theater itself is a beautifully restored, yet intimate theater, small because it was built in 1928 and catered to small elite audiences. With 1,800 seats, which are rather tight, not a lot of leg room, youll be charmed by the grandness of the architectural touches that lends itself to and elegant atmosphere. If you're physically handicapped you're destined to sit on ground floor level with limited view from the sides because there is no elevator to the second floor. However, it was a thrill to climb those marble stairs and feels the real wood of the balister. The lobby is open to the second floor balcony as well and you get the impression you are on a bridge. Overall it's a grand little place I would and may well visit again.
