I spent many years ordering Christy's in Newark and the food was always 5 star with a hometown feel. In the last year I have had 3 different times where I dealt with customer service blunders. I've never seen customer service this bad at any business when something has been wrong with an order at any point. #1 ordered spaghetti and had a sauce that tasted old and like a different sauce. We called and they told us it's same sauce as always. They argued about it and then offered a 2 dollar credit. We called to order again and the credit wasn't in the system. #2 Placed order for Supreme, they said it would be 50 min to an hour, I called after 1 hr and 30 minutes. The guy on the phone told me so what we're busy, I explained my complaint and he cursed at me. As I was talking still he hung up. I called back and I asked for a manager. She told me sorry and that they were having a bad night. She wanted me to cut them slack and let it go. She offered nothing and we received our pizza at just over 2 hrs. And when we got it the pizza was no longer fresh. You could tell the pizza had been removed from oven long before. # 3 Called and ordered cheesy bread. Apparently they have some discrepancy on the menu where mistakes happen often, we order this regularly and they never mess it up for us when we do order it. There is cheesy bread and then there are breadsticks with cheese which actually aren't breadsticks, but is cheesy bread in a box whereas the cheesy bread is garlic bread with cheese. They knew what we meant everytime before. The breadsticks with cheese is what we need to request. What we got tonight was a lot less food than we normally receive for almost the same price. This is fine, we made some alfredo with our little bit of bread, the problem is that when I called about it they didn't offer to fix it. They basically try to talk you down and victim blame. If it is a normal mistake that happens maybe the team should get together and fix the menu item discrepancy so it doesn't cause confusion when orders are placed. I never had problems with Christy's service before about a year ago give or take a few months. Maybe they have forgotten what great customer service could...
Read moreIf i could give this place NO STARS, ZERO, THAT WOULD BE MY REVIEW. Ate here a couple of years ago, maybe 2.5? Anyway, that was the ONE AND ONLY TIME... the dude who delivered was short the two 2-liters I bought- and when I mentioned this, he commented ours was his LAST FOR THE NIGHT, but since he had to go back to the store anyway before going home, he would BRING BACK what i paid for but didn't get. --i should've NOT tipped him yet, but we had nothing to drink with our pizza, so I was GRATEFUL HE OFFERED. UMM, YEAH.... he never came back. It was after closing time, so nobody to call that night. (Went somewhere else to get drinks, obviously). Life went on. A few weeks went by, probablly more like a month or so, and I was dwntwn, driving past Christys....I remembered the incident, so as I continued on my way, I called there and a woman answered. I told her my name, the original problem (no drinks delivered), and the second problem (delivery guy and his undelivered promise). She told me there was no way to confirm that-I corrected her and said yes, it can be- THEIR CREDIT CARD RECEIPTS, THE ORDER DATE, AND TALKING WITH THAT EMPLOYEE... she asked me if it was "really worth all of the trouble?" I hung up. Pizza wasn't that impressive to begin with, THEIR LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND OF ORDER COMPLETION DETAIL needs A MAJOR OVERHAUL, POSSIBLY NEW...
Read moreThis place was highly recommended an I wanted to get my grandmother a pizza for her bring a "pizza pizza party" for her 80th birthday. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with No smile No, hello, and when I didn't have a pick up order. It seemed like there was an issue that I wanted to order in-store, she said 20 minutes, I said ok no problem, I wait my 20 minutes and when she gets my pizza. She SLIDES it across the counter however so aggressively, when I ask Her for plates, cups and napkins, she gives me 3 plates, 3 napkins and 3 cups for one large pizza and 3 two Liters and that was after I asked her twice, sometimes I know businesses can get by with their product when they don't have that grade A of customer service. But when I took that pizza home, I realize that that pizza didn't cover up the horrible customer service that I had received, and I actually apologized when I left to her to say sorry. I bothered her at her job, because it really felt like I was the inconvenience. The only advice that I do have to give is give someone else a job that wants a job. Because just a smile goes a long way. But other than the pizza, I might be a little bias because the customer service turned me off.But I definitely think I would try it again because I have no hard feelings....
