My husband and I ate here last night. Just to start off with the waitress was rude. Her name was Jamie W. We told her we have never been there and was looking over the menu they had 3 too look at. Seasonal, regular and wine/drink menu. She asked us "So have you decided what to order besides water?" That really upset my husband. We ordered 2 mixed drinks and 2 appetizers. Captain Morgan with coke and a Green tea. The drinks were delicious. However, the appetizers were lacking. The fried green tomatoes were not seasoned the greens were not dressed and the spicy "hot spicy" sauce that was on the side did not go well. And why put cherry tomatoes on fried green tomatoes I didn't understand that at all. The calamari was good but no lemon wedges were served with it and the sauce was again too spicy. I did try the sauce from the first appetizers with the calamari and it tasted way better with it. Now for the main course. I had the 8oz baby beef tenderloin Oscar style. The stake needed to be seasoned but was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My issue was with the toppings. Crab didn't taste fresh had a fishy taste and smell. They put a Bearnaise sauce on the crab, but a spicy Hollandise sauce on the bottom with the asparagus. Again, WHY??!!?? My husband ordered the Shrimp Scampi. The waitress said just to let you know it's not made with garlic. So he asked for them to please add some. The did in garlic infused olive oil drizzle on top. If you order that it's creamy lemon angel haired pasta with 3 deep fried huge shrimp on top. That is not a shrimp scampi!. Finally we finished our meal and asked for some of their Macaroons to go. The bill came up to 173.71 and we did tip it up to a total of $200. When looking at the receipt it says they charge and additional 3% for using a credit card to pay. Oh and don't get me started on their nasty bread. Couldn't tell what herbs on it, or if that was olive oil, butter or fake butter on it and was it white bread or sour dough??? Couldn't figure it out. The only thing we really liked was the drinks, calamari and the macaroons. I do love oyster and they serve them on Tuesday, but now I'm really hesitant about going back for that. Only...
Read moreFirst time with this place. As I entered the establishment I noticed how friendly the receptionist was, then a gentleman who dressed casually greeted me and took me to our table that was reserved by my friends. I specifically requested for them to come to this restaurant for my birthday just to change the ambiance. We’re usually out somewhere in Columbus area. It is tastefully decorated with modern amenities- love the color and soft lighting

My wife and I went to 1922 on a Saturday after Valentine's Day. We started with cocktails. Both of our glass had a sticky substances that kept getting stuck to our hands and the napkins they were placed on. The drinks themselves were good, no big deal move on. The server brough out some toasted garlic bread to start the night. It was toasted, but wasn't warm at all. It was fine.
For an appetizer we decided to try the jerk chicken eggrolls. This might have been the most repulsive thing we have ever eaten. The chicken and vegetable filling had been cooked for so long that it was beginning to turn into a weird paste. If you've ever eaten fried liver it almost had that type of texture, but it wasn't liver...
We both went with steaks and had their fingerling potatoes and Mac & Cheese for sides. Based on our experience so far we both ordered medium steaks figuring they wouldn't get it right, we were correct. Both came out medium-rare which was how we like it. The steaks were fine, but needed some seasoning. The potatoes were overcooked, dry, and devoid of any seasoning. The Mac & Cheese was cold, what little cheese sauce there was wasn't creamy, and for some reason there was un-melted yellow shredded cheddar cheese on top even though the description said it was "white cheddar". Coincidently, the couple sitting next to us sent back their food because they were also served cold food.
The food was served so quickly that my only guess is that everything at 1922 that can be prepared in advance is cooked and placed in a buffet style warmer in the back and left to die. If you've ever eaten at buffet or a pot luck and you see all the food sitting in the warmer looking completely dehydrated. Yeah... that basically sums up our experience with 1922.
We ended up spending $200 ($165 bill + $35 tip). This place wants so badly to be a up-scale restaurant with their menu selections and descriptions, but in reality it's just an overpriced lazy buffet serving cold, dead,...
