I had Teriyaki Madness for the first time yesterday. I got the Spicy Beef, w/ White Rice, And Veggies. The experience as a whole was amazing. The food was awesome. Would give the food a solid a 6.5-7/10. It was very pricey, but 75% worth it. The service was on point. The lady that took my order was very kind and courteous. Absolutely made me feel at home. And the ambience was very home-y. Not too too much space, but very comfortable all the same. The beef was very good up until the very end. Had 2 very large inedible slices of beef at the end (due to toughness, but the rest were very tender), but all in all the beef was very good. The White Rice was impeccable (As is all Asian Sticky Rice). The veggies were coated in a sauté sauce, but very bland. Their “Mad Sauce” was ok, was told it was “extremely spicy”, but the Sriracha Packet that came with the meal was a lot spicier. Either way it was still good! The “Mad Sauce” has like a Soy Sauce/Sweet N Sour/Hint of Pepper Flakes, type of flavor to it. All in all, I would absolutely eat from this place again, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for “Hibachi Style Food” in the Newark, NJ Area.

This is the first and only teriyaki madness I've been to, but it is a big franchise. Order at the counter or from the app (use code CECIHU9640 for a free bowl when buying a bowl and 2 drinks, first time only). I love their teriyaki chicken bowls! They are big and filling, with lots of flavors, and a good balance of carbs/protein/veggies. I would say the small definitely feeds someone with a smaller appetite, the medium is great for people that can eat a whole meal, and the large is big enough to share between a couple. We think the large bowl used to have a lot more meat before, not sure if it's shrinkflation or just bas luck that day getting a smaller piece of chicken. Its still plenty, but since we were sharing a large bowl, we noticed right away. From the side menu, I've only tried the edamame, which is boiled and salted, tasted great and healthy. They have a lot of personalization options too, you can do a power bowl with no rice and all veggies, or you can make all your veggies (usually mostly cabbage) into broccoli for an extra charge. You can also swap the rice for noodles (extra charge), and so on.

I had a nine-hour layover in Newark and needed a good place to eat. Google recommended Teriyaki Madness as one of the best nearby, so I took a bus over—and it was worth it. I arrived around 1 PM and was pleasantly surprised to find the place nearly empty, which made for a peaceful meal. The cashier was super kind and recommended the spicy grilled chicken bowl with noodles, which I ordered. The chicken and noodles were both very fresh, and I appreciated that the teriyaki sauce was served on the side so I could add as much as I wanted. One thing I didn’t love was the location—it’s in a weaker, somewhat shady area, and finding the place felt a bit uncomfortable at first. It gave off a slightly “ghetto” vibe on the way there, and I was unsure walking through the neighborhood. That said, once I was inside the restaurant, I felt totally safe and well taken care of. The staff was friendly, and the environment inside was clean and welcoming. The portion size was a little small for the price, but overall, this is a solid spot for a fresh and flavorful meal with great service.

I was in the barbershop when a couple of their employees came in and was telling everyone about the new spot that was having a grand opening and was welcoming everyone to come try them out.

They also had bags of different bowls that they were giving away and for us to taste and try. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that the food tasted as good as it did. They gave me a BBQ chicken breast and rice bowl that was very good. Sauce was tasty. They rice wasnt overcooked and the chicken had a nice sear on it. They also gave extra sauce just in case you needed to dip or pour on. Hopefully they wont charge for the extra sauce.

Also had the teriyaki chicken and veggies which I would definitely go back for. Love the sauce it had on it and the veggies even though I'm not a big veggie fan I ate them.

Lastly they had in the bag a breaded chicken which was the least of my favorite. Chicken was a little dry and didnt have any seasoning on it but they get a pass because they just opened and it's a trial and error going forward.

I would recommend this spot if you in the downtown Newark area for a quick bit for lunch. Prices are reasonable and comparable to all the fast food joints in the area.

I'll check back on them in a few months or when I'm downtown getting my hair cut to see if they improve on the breaded chicken to see if they read their reviews and take recommendations from their customers.

Didnt take any pics this time but I will be sure to take some the next time I try them.

Good luck and off to a good...

I ordered on the phone on the way back from my second job. I should have read the reviews before coming here I picked up at 8:30. When I placed the order I told the young man on the phone I wanted a large order of the teriyaki chicken brown rice and broccoli and i asked him if they could place the rice separate and he told me yes no problem and took my name and my number. I get there the food is all in the same bowl. I don’t mind paying the high prices as they are so long as I get what I asked for. The gentleman at the counter tried to help me but I heard the cook tell him in Spanish no that’s how what he ordered is served and that if I wanted I could buy another separate portion of rice. What and pay another what ever the charge was on top of an already 20 dollar plate. I just took the food and left. When I get home ready to eat the first bite was like biting into uncooked rice, the cook had scraped the bottom of the brown rice pot and sold me whatever he was about to throw away. Now the only thing left to post this review and vent a bit, cause I know I ain’t getting the money back and the food is in the trash. On another note I ate peanut butter and jelly for dinner and it was better. Had it been me even if what I ordered was served Lille that I would have made it the way the customer wanted and then educated the customer on why it was served to him in that matter. I also wouldn’t give the customers the bottom of the barrel....

This place is conveniently close to home and has vegan options so I came here today for the first time. I, like most people assumed that the bowls came with rice as the base and that you didn’t have to specify that you wanted it included so I ordered the Spicy Tofu bowl.

Since I’m a vegan I always like to confirm that there is no meat included and so the cashier told me that was correct and it came with vegetables. When my order was done I realized there was no rice, just vegetables as a base and tofu, i was never told that it wouldn’t come with rice, or asked if I wanted it. I asked if it could be fixed and even offered to pay for the difference but was told they couldn’t re-do my bowl even after I had paid for it, getting the rice on the side is inconvenient when you’re essentially trying to eat it as a whole so I ended up buying a completely new bowl just to get it right.

The manager did approach me and seemed concerned about what went wrong and why I wasn’t happy but I still ended up paying $19 just to get one order right, they didn’t necessarily fix the problem, I paid for it to get fixed, I feel like it could have handled differently, I will not...
