I recently discovered Yugo Ramen at NewPark Mall in Newark, and I’m already hooked! From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was bright, clean, and inviting—exactly what you want when you’re craving ramen.
The Yugo Ramen signature bowl is an absolute standout—with a rich, creamy pork broth, house-made noodles, tender chashu pork, perfectly soft-boiled egg, and flavorful toppings like bamboo shoots and black garlic oil. Everything blended beautifully into one unforgettable bowl.
Appetizers like the gyoza and chicken karaage were delightful—crispy, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. I also appreciated the wide range of drinks—unique slushes, and refreshing teas, but my favorite out of all of them was the “Let your Man-go”
Service was warm and welcoming—the staff genuinely made me feel at home, especially Mark, Julius, and Joseph. The spacious seating area meant it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy your meal
Overall, Yugo Ramen delivers on flavor, variety, and ambiance. A must-visit whether you’re a ramen aficionado or just in search of a satisfying, cozy bite. Highly recommend it—I’ll...
Read moreYugo ramen is a new ramen restaurant that was just opened in the new park mall. I ordered the number one ,the Yugo ramen. I figure if it has the name, it's what they pride right? I like to rate my ramen on four criteria; the all important broth, the noodles, the meat, and finally the egg.
Broth - very smooth, filling and rich, yet does not overwhelm. Gets a thumbs up from me. Noodles - a little larger and more robust than most other restaurants. While this added a good bite to the noodles, it doesn't hold the soup as well as I'd like. All in all a solid noodle. Meat - this was the big letdown. The flavor of the char siu wasn't developed enough, dare I say... A hint of bland. The texture was also slightly tough. Egg - softboiled as it should be.
I'm glad there's finally a ramen restaurant in the Fremont Newark area that I can satisfy my ramen cravings at. Sometimes you just don't have time or energy to jump though the hoops to get a bowl of the greats like ramen dojo. As for me, if I want that quick yet authentic fix of ramen, yugo ramen is now my go...
Read moreIt's great to have a new ramen option in Fremont, and Yugo gets a lot right. The restaurant itself is modern and clean, with a pleasant atmosphere that’s surprisingly nice considering its in the dead nepark mall. The service was a real standout – our servers were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
The ramen is the main event, and it shows promise. We tried the Yugo Special and the Miso Ramen; in both, the broth was rich and the ajitama (seasoned egg) was perfectly cooked.
However, a couple of key items missed the mark for us, especially considering the price. The chashu pork was rather bland and not very tender. The bigger letdown was the Okonomiyaki Fries. It’s a creative idea, but the execution involved thick, unseasoned fries covered in an overwhelmingly sweet sauce. We found we couldn't finish them.
Yugo has a great foundation with its atmosphere, service, and ramen broth. I'd recommend sticking to the classic ramen bowls and passing on some...
