I have never actually ordered from this particular Chipotle myself - but as a delivery driver, I feel that certain things need to be addressed. For starters, this restaurant seems to suffer from a level of demand that absolutely cripples the staff and their resourcesā ability to supply. This is something that may have to be handled with another Chipotle opening in Amesbury, Seabrook, Salisbury, etc. to be overcome.
However, last night I saw truly how bad it was. To begin with, the drive thru line was out to the main roads, near the entryway to neighboring Panera. This is a result of bad design - thereās only one lane to get in, and it is not easy to find a place to park. (Ultimately I saved time and stress by parking at Panera).
I witnessed a man waiting for his food with all the patience he could muster, only to be told that someone else was given his order. Finally he got it, and I also got my first delivery order (after a fairly lengthy wait).
It was on my second delivery order that I reached a breaking point. The aforementioned manās son came back while I was waiting for my own pickup. He discussed every problem with the order, and the staff seemed very passive about how to handle it. Equally, when I questioned the status of my second customerās order, the staff gave me the same explanation they had given the man before - that someone else had come to pick it up. At this point, the customer and I were both fed up enough that she and I mutually cancelled the delivery.
No customers should ever have this experience, and no delivery driver should either - especially when there are ten other locations I can deliver from within the town that, while not without imperfections and occasional delays, at least have a sense of leadership and transparency if things are going wrong. With that in place, this spot could thrive. But for now, Iām going to try to avoid accepting deliveries from this location, and spend my time and positive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI genuinely feel sorry for anyone that truly doesnāt know what Chipotle is all about⦠what itās supposed to look/taste like⦠and then comes to the Newburyport location to try for the first time ā¦. because itās obvious the staff here have absolutely no idea.
This location consistently fails to live up to the Chipotle standard you come to expect at other locations. Itās not one thing amiss on a given night⦠itās everything. Tried again tonight and without failā¦. a horrible almost inedible failure was once again produced. On the positive side, the food order was packaged and ready to go on time and the staff were friendly. But what counts most is the food you pay for and unfortunately (excluding the excellent guac) it was awful. Wrong meat (which was cold and completely dried out), the usual scant portions of all requested ingredients (burrito bowl container was more than half empty despite paying for double meat and multiple other ingredients), wrong rice used which was hard as if not cooked long enough and a āLargeā chips (thatās a joke) which were completely stale.. how can that be??? We simply ordered two burrito bowls at 4:30 in the afternoon when things should be fresh and there was no one thereā¦. a clue maybe ?
I found that the only way to mitigate error is to go inside and watch as it is produced. At least you can ensure correct ingredients are added though doesnāt address the poor quality. DO NOT USE CHIPOTLANE for pickup as we did tonight.. Have NEVER gotten order right yet using app and drive thru. Sadly weāre done with this neighborhood location unless something significant changes ⦠like the management/ownership. It apparent there is no quality control here and no one...

The last time I ordered a burrito, it was so full the employee had to double-wrap. I certainly got what I paid for.
Second Review Sept 2022 āļøāļøāļø/5 Stars
Severely understaffed, I understand. The inside was closed, forcing all orders to be received via drivethru. After waiting in the pickup 20 min , I received the bag. The food was still enjoyable.
There were only three people working. There desperately needs to be at least 5 or 6! Hope they find more employees.
Third Review Oct 5 2022 āļøāļø/5 Stars
Iām writing this review from the dining room at jersey mikes. Chipotle closed two hours early yet was still accepting online orders. Drove up to a sign that said ādue to short staffing weāre closing at 6pm - call this number for a refundā
The only bright side was the phone operator gave me a free entree via the chipotle app. A consolation prize. Woohoo.
Fourth Review July 13 2023 āļø āļø āļø āļø/5 Stars. Iāve been here two or three times in the last few months and have noticed an improvement in all facets of the business. Operating hours are consistent, servings are great, and the food quality is great. I waited for a few consistently good experiences before...
