Good 🍨 ice-cream, service was friendly but a bit slow. They are 🧤 handling online orders as well as people who arrive, and there were a lot. All sorts of sizes for 🍨 ice-cream. I had a rum raisin, my son a chocolate 🍨 ice-cream and my friend, she had a raspberry sundae. Remember to ask for napkins. Plenty of parking 🅿️. Facemasks required. Picnic tables available. I was able to use Planet Fitness' Wifi. Went back again. Ordered online. It took a serious attempt to order online, but, my friend and I were successful. I ordered a mint chip. Tasted good 😋. Sugar cones are 10¢ extra.

We stopped in for a post-covid vaccine treat. There were many flavors ... so hard to choose. Beware, the portion size is enormous. We got the smallest size. It was plenty. They have a good-sized parking lot and there were a bunch of picnic tables out front. We didn't see any bathroom facilities.

The first time here, the picnic tables were clean, and there was easy parking, too. Their banana 🍌 split was huge. They do 3 6 or 9 scoopsscoops, and we got the 3 scoops, and its more than enough for 2 people. The pics 📸 don't do it justice to the size in hand. It will shock you.

Ah, Hodgies Too, an establishment that challenges the very notion of English dignity and culinary refinement! I came upon this place, bereft of any pretense, whilst seeking to partake in this New World delight known as 'ice cream.' A stand? A kiosk? It defies my lexicon!

You see, in Old England, ice cream is a rarefied luxury, a carefully curated experience infused with a modicum of grace. Here, however, it seems the focus is on gluttonous excess. An avalanche of frozen dairy perched upon a fragile cone? It's as if the Boston Tea Party was reenacted with sprinkles and caramel.

But wait, there's a plot twist! Winged assailants, an airborne armada of mosquitos, descend upon us as if taking cues from the Battle of Britain. I've fought in wars, stood against foes both foreign and domestic, but never have I yielded as much blood as I did at Hodgies Too. The audacity, the sheer lack of decorum!

One cannot simply 'enjoy' ice cream here; no, one must defend it. It's like Trafalgar meets dessert, a campaign waged on the marshy grounds of an ice cream stand that seems to scoff at the very concept of 'inside.' Aeon-old oaths to Queen and Country flooded my mind as I swatted and parried with a flimsy plastic spoon.

This bizarre soiree of dairy and insect warfare begs existential questions. Is it a tribute to the indomitable American spirit or a mockery of the genteel British palate? And why, pray tell, does one need so much of a good thing? Quality, my dear friends, trumps quantity every day of the week and twice on Sundays!

Hodgies Too, you are an enigma, a paradoxical experience that tests the bounds of both man and dessert. You have neither the solemnity of a Churchill nor the restraint of a Jane Austen, yet you hold a chaotic allure that I shan't forget, though I dare say, I shall fervently try.

And so, I took my leave, my palate confused, my constitution tested, my faith in Old England unwavering. This, my dear compatriots, is Hodgies Too—a culinary battlefield where the spoils of victory are counted in scoops and scars. It is, without doubt, a place where the Empire sun never...

Hodgies Too of Newburyport is an absolute celestial gem, a veritable shrine to frozen decadence that has ensnared my heart and palate! 😍🍦 Since its inception, this iconic creamery has woven itself into the fabric of Newburyport’s soul, and my recent indulgence in their chocolate chip and vanilla ice creams was nothing short of a euphoric odyssey! 🌟 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The chocolate chip, studded with decadent morsels, dances on the tongue like a symphony of sweetness, while the vanilla—oh, the vanilla!—is a creamy, velvety dream, pure and ethereal, cradled in a flawless cone crowned with a jubilant cascade of jimmies. 🎉🍫 This divine pairing is, without question, the zenith of ice cream artistry, a masterpiece that elevates the soul to rapturous heights! 😋🙌

This location replicates the menu and homemade ice cream tradition of its sister stand, Hodgies Too in Salisbury, which began in 1992.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Newburyport shop, under the ownership of Derek and Kristen Dore since 2014, continues the legacy of the Hodge family, who started the original Hodgies in Amesbury...

What a waste of money. It took about 15 minutes to get 4 ice creams- and there was no line. My ice cream was supposed to be coffee with cookie pieces. It was just a ball of cold sugar. And it somehow tasted like mint. Sub par at best. No flavor profile to be found. My boyfriend ordered the peanut butter cup. Not a single peanut butter cup was found. It was chocolate ice cream with a peanut butter swirl- and by swirl I mean there was one giant chunk of peanut butter in the center of his ice cream that took up probably at least half of the volume of the ice cream. He ate the ice cream around it and then threw away the ball of peanut butter. I will not...
