I don’t write reviews ever but the hard working public needs to know where not to spend there hard earned money. We have been here multiple times and each time vowed to never return. The only reason we where there that evening was the live music. That is the only reason for the one star. We put our name on the list for a 45 min wait and went to the Bar for 2 glasses of wine. Cashed out and the Bartender said the wine was $11 each. I respectfully paid and even tipped $4 just to hand me the glasses. He took the cash tip and walked away without any acknowledgment. Later found out when I ordered my food that they where $10 a glass. Ripped off while you wait without even a thank you. We sat for the full 45 mins in a side area. It was OK because the Live Band was playing. Finally got a high top table. This male kid (very young Justin Long look alike) waiter finally arrives to take the order seeming preoccupied. We ordered then proceeded to enjoy the wine I over paid for at the bar. Food runners are kids doing a high school job. Thats fine but when when this kid dropped the food on the table and gave my wife nothing close to what she ordered he just ran away. Now have to find the waiter. He must be near the back restroom where I saw him playing on his phone. Finally getting his attention he apologized and took the food away. Literally 3 mins later he returns with the SAME WRONG plate and put it down on the table. Cant make that up. My patients running thin because my food is getting cold I told him that is not what she ordered again. We finally clarified the order after he made her point to the item on the menu. He said we will not have to pay for her “MEAL”. 25 mins goes by. My wife watching me eat on one of the few nights we have together is unacceptable. She finally got her Sub Par flatbread. We finished and sat there for another 15 mins. This waiter never walked by once. I had to Bus our plates to the adjacent table so we could have room to finish our drinks and leave. We Finally see this waiter walk by and I respectfully ask for the check. He had no intention of acknowledging me at all if I hadn’t waved him down. Mind you the place is half full at this point. I get the check and of course after all that the FULL bill was displayed even after he said he would take her $15 flatbread off. I was able to get his attention yet again and inquired about the bill and he says “ Yeah I said I won’t charge you for the pasta”. WE never ordered pasta. Shocked at that response I said “ No you said her meal”. His demeanor becomes agitated and condescending. He says “ Look you want to take it off I will so no need to get the MGR involved”. I replied yes please. Shaking my head thinking that was it he walked away with card. He returns and THROWS the check cover on the table and walked away. I don’t know about anyone reading this but that was the line. I grabbed the check and found the MGR, who was polite and very young herself. We described what I wrote here. She was apologetic and offered a gift card which I declined because I will never return. I signed my check and walked just out the door while my wife used the restroom. There I could see a back room of Waitstaff thru the glass and that waiter looking out laughing. I live in Newnan and have given this place multiple chances only because of the Live music. Every time it has disappointed. The level of disrespect and basic training in courtesy by this waiter alone should send a red flag to go elsewhere. The place is run by kids. Summer job kids. I am sure all of them aren’t as disrespectful as our waiter but this warrants a review. I work hard for my money and there are too many other restaurants near by with better food and...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were super excited to try eating here because we had only heard great things about it, but our experience did not reflect what we had heard. We went to the upstairs portion of the restaurant about 5 minutes before the time we placed our reservation and we were sat super quick by our server who immediately got our drinks for us, but at this point we started experiencing issues. After getting our drinks we started to look at the menu and realized that what the online menu has listed a lot more options for food than what was available in store due to outages, and specials only being available on certain day, which is completely fine and we thought we must have missed it online where it probably said that about limited menu, so we looked through what they had and on there very expensive menu we were able to find to what seemed to be a very appealing meal. I got the special for the day which was a seared bass with potatoes and asparagus. My girlfriend got the salmon with crab, green beans and some kind of rice, not really sure what it was. We placed our order and started talking, it wasn’t long before we realized I’m our food was taking a while to come out, especially for fish. We waited and waited, and about an hour later our food finally came out. We were aggravated by the time we had to wait, but were hoping for it to be really good. Off of first glance we didn’t have high expectations due to the extremely small portion sizes for our sides, which once again might just be how they do things there, but for about $30 for each meal it wasn’t a lot for the price we paid and the fact that we had only gotten fish and vegetables. We began eating our food and my girlfriends catfish was better than we’ve had before oat some places, but my salmon was extremely dry and flavorless. After eating about half of each of our meals we were both feeling queasy so we asked for our check quickly and left. Our server was great and she shouldn’t be at fault for this, but everything else in the nicest way to put it was horrendous. We really do hope this was a one time fluke because we’d love to come back and have our minds changed about this place. But from two people who work in the food industry this was extremely...
Read moreI've eaten at the The Cellar (The Bays - outside) quite a few times in the past, and it's been pretty good. However, this past Saturday April 20th was enough for me to decide I won't be going back. It was a very nice Saturday evening and Newnan was very busy due to the Newnan "Rock and Road" festival. I totally understand that. We were seated fairly quick even though they were pretty busy. It took about 20 minutes to get anyone to come to ask what we wanted to drink. Finally someone came and we ordered drinks and appetizers. 10 minutes later the appetizers come, we were like "O.K. that's awesome". Waited another 15 minutes and no drinks. Ask about our drink order and was told they are working on getting them, but the bar is slammed busy, I said, "O.K". I understand, please get them as soon as you can. Another 15 minutes pass and I see the waiter taking drinks to other tables and still we have nothing. I ask him to just bring us a bottle of whatever beer, we'll take that. Another 15 minutes go by and by then We'd had enough. He approaches finally after 1 hour 15 minutes (approx.) with Coors light (which sucks) but it was something. We got up, I approached the hostess in a very nice but aggravated manner and told her we were leaving. I won't say I will never go back, but it will be a very, very long time before I do again. Again, I understand the restaurant was busy, but 1 hour and 15 minutes for drinks was ridiculous. One great thing about this was that we walked right across the street to MEAT N GREET and was seated IMMEDIATELY, order drinks got them with appetizers in 10 minutes, placed our regular order, received in 15 minutes and as ALWAYS it WAS GREAT !!!!!!!!!! This is a our MAIN STAY that we usually go to and in the future we will not stray to another place. THE CELLAR could learn a lot from other really good restaurants in...
