Let me start out by saying that our server, Makayla, was great and our drinks were comped, but we won't go back to The Bays. To start, the host seemed bothered to deal with people and she wouldn't tell us an approximate wait time. We waited an hour to be seated and then learned that our server had to cover most of the patio herself. She was so apologetic! We waited forever on appetizers and our meal. We requested the kids meal, chicken tenders and fries, to come out asap and it came out an hour later with the rest of the food. We learned they had 3 teenagers in the kitchen bc they didn't expect the Saturday night crowd??? Several parties left bc the wait was so bad. The Mahi tacos were small filets and tasted fishy. The fries were very salty, and the sweet potato fries were cold. The burgers were ok, but just typical burgers. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this experience warranted it. The social scene must be what keeps this place going bc waiting three hours for mediocre food is not bringing...
Read moreWe went to eat at The Cellar on Friday August 13th. There was a live band playing jazz type music, really loud! We were seated just outside from where they were playing and we literally could not hear each other speak. It was so loud that my 11 year old asked the waitress for a papertowel to tear up and put in his ears. After that wasn't enough he got up and moved away completely. I asked the band, in between songs, if they could turn the speakers down, which they did a bit, but it was still like a concert in there. Not nice background noise.. Before we got our food we asked for to go boxes and took our $150 meal home in styrofoam!!! Very disappointed in management's ability to guage the setting in the restaurant. They apologized for how loud it was, but nothing changed on the bands end. The food was great considering we ate it at home:(. Which is why I didn't give this 1 star. Really disappointed in our dining experience. We...
Read moreHey look, it's a restaurant with a separate bar! Oh no, it's all the same place and you have to put your name in for a table. So you get mixed in with the dinner crowd. I can understand maybe there is understaffing, but that shouldn't even be a problem if you are branding your bar separately. There MUST be a separate place to just walk in and be seated for the drinking area. Otherwise, lose 'The Bays' thing. Waiting to be seated and then waiting for the wait staff that are dealing with food orders is ridiculous. Also, it is laughable they serve an 'artisan cheese board' for $19 and it looks like a night run to Kroger to grab lunchables. The only reason I'm giving anything 2 stars is for general effort, ambiance, and the lady at the front desk was helpful and was really trying to be welcoming. She was grateful we even stayed long enough to be seated. It was busy, but come on, have a separate seating area...
