A coffee house for wankers. It was an actual coffee house before the wanky Newport Beach remodel that turned it into yet another fern-bar where you can't possibly sit down and bang out a novel, or an app, on yer laptop... No plugs, no recharging, and pathetically bad, overpriced coffee. It's even more annoying they closed down the Coffee Bean down the street -- which suffered no such pretense. I guess they had to close it to remodel into an effete and useless place in order to not shock banksters' sensibilities with any deviation from the cheesy design tropes preferred by the elite. Edit: raised a star b/c they are at least trying with their wireless chargers. Two whole tables inside with plugs and a few outside. Coffee is ok, prefer Peet's. Re wireless charge -- it's a slow charge and you can't really use device while it's stuck charging. Most devices dont have it as feature...so.. How about... A 120vac plug? I know it's kinda passé to offer Edison era connections in this ass-backwards modern age. Oh and raised another star because they don't kick me out when i come in on inline skates. BTW none of this is the hardworking staff's fault - my complaints are to the management and architect and the idiot that decided on wireless charging...

After 10 min the same worker again got close to my desk and said in order to stay here should have ordered something . It was a first time in my entire Starbucks experience I was getting this type of service /treatment . So I just got up and got 2 water bottles to not have to hear them again . This location has a big space and it’s sad that few people gather or have coffee time there . My recommendation is to give at least 30 min time to people and then talk about store policy which seems is very specific for this Starbucks . Also , with this type of policy and attitude few people may desire to go there when there is much more welcoming...
