Topside Roof Deck — Restaurant in Newport Beach

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit, specifically regarding a concerning experience with a food allergy. While the view was lovely and the food overall was decent, I was served steak skewers that unexpectedly had almonds on them. Since I have a nut allergy, this was alarming, especially because there was no indication of nuts on the menu. When I brought it up to the server, she mentioned that she had informed management about this issue before, but no action had been taken to update the menu or address the concern.

Food allergies are serious, and it’s disappointing that this hasn’t been handled with more care. Clear labeling on the menu or proper communication could prevent a potentially dangerous situation for someone with severe allergies. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to ensure a safer dining experience...

The couple sitting across from us had the same issue of a missing reservation, or there not being enough tables despite having a reservation. It was really odd due to the fact that we were asked to leave due to another party showing up for a reservation (you would think that if that was the policy that it would be no problem when we arrived). We spent a lot of money and had just ordered a bottle of wine just to be told we could stand at the bar (not sit but stand). The host was uninterested in looking at our confirmation emails and generally treated us like we were less than anyone else there. I have told multiple people about the experience and truly will be advising people against going here. I was torn between going here and another place and chose your establishment because of the “vibe,” I took someone here visiting from out of town and left wishing we had chose...

Appalling experience! They make you wait at the door even if it’s not busy. I arrived with cruches and I had to ask them - they see you but they pretend they don’t! I suppose they want to look cool amd busy!!! I spent 10 years in NY at the hypest rooftops and clubs and never been treated so poorly!! They choose who to help quickly: 4 blondes in their 20s were helped very quickly. They even got the umbrella I request before them! I finally got mine after complaining again!! They walk pass the tables not checking in anybody. And waited 35 minutes to be able to get sugar and a spoon for my coffee which was cold by then. We ve been here since 12 pm it’s 1:30 still no food served… The hotel is great but these guys try to hard to be cool and ruin it! Just think about the customers! They are the one paying your salaries! Avoid this...
