'Wich Doctor — Restaurant in Newport

This place had a lot of potential. However for a bougie sandwich shop, you should not consistently be serving stale, brown lettuce. No one wants to be eating their salad and bite into a brown, slimy piece of lettuce and have to spit it out. The salad will look great, then halfway through you will have bitten into rotten produce. I don't understand how you run a upscale sandwich shop but don't flip out the lettuce regularly for this to happen to me twice now, yesterday will be the last time. They also don't answer their phones half of the time when I call to place an order. As a business, as another customer mentioned, you should be able to walk-in or call and place an order anytime during business hours. Also, if you find a sandwich or salad that you like, don't get too attached to it. They are constantly changing their dressings out, as well as their recipes. You may like the potato salad or salad dressing this week, and next week it's something completely different. Too hit-and-miss. No consistency or professionalism. I’m always looking for another place to try. I did my usual Google search and found this new gem in Newport. I ordered a plain double decker pastrami on rye. I’m a big fan of the classic deli. This is the best pastrami sandwich that I’ve had in the Cincy area. I haven’t been everywhere but I’ve been around looking for that amazing sandwich. This is the best that I’ve found thus far. No doubt. HUGE double decker pastrami on rye sandwich! The pasta salad was also the best I’ve had in the entire area. The flavors were outstanding and so obviously homemade. I don’t leave many reviews for places but I felt it necessary to leave a review for this place. It seems like a new business (used to be a BBQ place) and I’m hoping it sticks around for a long time. ‘Wich doctor must have put a delicious spell on our food. Holy moly!!! 15/10. Worth every penny.

Muffuletta w/ four bean salad and Cubano w/ potato salad.

Muffuletta bread was INSANE. Only nitpicky complaint (if I have to search for one) was too much olive spread which a made overall sandwich too salty for my palette. Scraped a lot of it off and muffuletta turned into perfection.

Cubano was incredible. Potato salad was incredible. Overall, INCREDIBLE.

So happy ‘Wich Doctor is in Newport! Y’all have definitely put a spell on us. New favorite...
