Awarding the stars to the waitress and the bartender. Unrelated to them, I still won’t return to this location or order take out from here.
Our waitress’ customer service was great, and she was attentive even when the restaurant became busy. For some reason, her section was pretty much the entire length of the restaurant.
I wasn’t clear with the order and realized I had made a mistake when our food came. I apologized and ordered an additional entrée, but she was as apologetic as me or more.
A glass that I received in the wine flight was dirty- food or something? towards the middle of the glass. The bartender agreed to get me a new glass and replace the wine inside (obviously) even though we weren’t sure if they were starting to close the bar or not.
The lack of stars are due to the greet and seating at the door and the food. We were ignored at the door even after the two people (a hostess and a manager?) made eye contact with me. The hostess then walked away. As an afterthought, just before she reached people she wanted to talk with, she came back to inform me that she would seat the people who had been waiting for a while (seating them first makes sense).
The restaurant was virtually empty though; our booth and one next to us… in the middle were 2 tables of customers, and on the far side were another couple of tables of customers. Maybe the waiting staff was understaffed?
My margherita pizza was okay. The basil seemed fresh. The fresh mozzarella did not seem like it was actually fresh mozerella that’s needed to be kept in water. If you’ve had real fresh mozerella and the dryer, shredded kind, you know what I’m talking about.
The pasta was abundant, but the sauce was so scarce that it only slightly changed the pasta to a red color from the sauce/ tomatoes. To be more detailed: we ordered one pasta dish with meat sauce, and there were 4 small pieces of meat. That’s how dry the pasta was.
Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 of us ordered some...
Read moreWorst restaurant experience. The table tilted back and forth. The wrapped silverware had spinach or green seaweed on the handle of the fork. The server was new apparently and either was not trained well or was just really really bad. Saw her when we ordered, she brought the drinks, then nothing. Appetizers and meals all arrived together by a server. Still no waitress she was having a grand Ole conversation at the server station and we couldn't catch her eye. Then she disappeared off the floor. Since we had one fork between us for two meals had to ask the host for another fork. No refills for drinks, as we didn't have a waitress. Flagged her down and mentioned the food came out together she shrugged. Asked for it to boxed to go and a refill on the drinks. She went off to her manager to discuss, then disappeared in back as he came over and comped the appetizer. Told him the issue with the table, the fork (still waiting for) and the waitress disappeared we would like drink refills. He goes off and he and the waitress talk. Still, no refills, we had to go up to the lady in business casual to ask her for a refill our waitress was MIA. The nice gentleman at the host stand brought us a fork. So we could eat our meal. Absolutely horrible service, I love CPK food but will NEVER go back to the one in Old Orchard. As our waitress again disappeared off the floor we just paid cash and told the host money was on the table and left. We understand people are new, but either CPK is not training the staff based on the fact the manager didn't give us a refill on our drinks nor supply a fork. So, no drinking or eating at CPK? Please fix your table from wobbling to make a better impression on...
Read moreCalifornia Pizza Kitchen in Old Orchard. So so dissapointed ... this place is so NOT kids (family) friendly!!! Me and my daughter which is 14 mo (she was in a light umbrella stroller) and my friend, her son which is 6 years old and her 1 mo newborn daughter (which was in an infant car seat) wanted to have dinner here at 5pm today (Friday). The place was almost empty (2 occupied tables inside and maybe 2 outside on the patio). The girl at the entrance tried to tell us in different ways that we are not welcome to dine here. First she said that we could only be out on the patio which is exactly what we wanted, than she said that they can only sit 4 persons at a table. We did not get it ... we were 2 adults, 2 kids and one newborn ... I guess because of the 5th person which is 1mo old in an infant car seat made it impossible for us. Than she said we could not get in with the strollers bla bla bla. She called the manager which started with the same story, so we lost it and just turned around and leave saying that we didn't know that families with kids are not welcome. Will...
