Review: ⭐☆☆☆☆
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Epic Burger in Skokie, Illinois, and it was nothing short of a disappointment. From the lackluster burgers to the abysmally salty taste, this establishment failed on multiple levels. Furthermore, their customer service in regards to refunds was nothing short of a nightmare.
Let's start with the burgers. I was genuinely excited to try Epic Burger, given the positive things I had heard from friends. However, the reality fell far short of my expectations. The patties were dry, overcooked, and lacked any discernible flavor. It's as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, waiting to be served to unsuspecting customers. The buns were stale and tasted like they had been recycled from the previous day. The toppings were sparse and uninspiring, leaving the overall burger experience utterly forgettable.
What truly pushed my disappointment to new heights was the excessive level of saltiness. I understand that some people enjoy a flavorful kick, but this was beyond acceptable limits. The salt overwhelmed every other taste, making it impossible to savor any other ingredient. It felt like I was consuming a sodium bomb with each bite, leaving me parched and dissatisfied.
To make matters worse, when I approached the staff about my dissatisfaction and requested a refund, I was met with resistance and indifference. The customer service was appalling, to say the least. Instead of addressing my concerns and offering a solution, they brushed me off and made me feel like an inconvenience. It took an unreasonable amount of effort and persistence just to get someone to acknowledge my request for a refund, let alone actually receive it.
In conclusion, Epic Burger in Skokie, Illinois is a far cry from what its name suggests. The burgers were dry, tasteless, and drowned in an excessive amount of salt. The lack of attention to customer satisfaction and the arduous process of obtaining a refund only added to the disappointment. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a satisfying burger experience. Save your money and taste buds by steering clear of Epic...
Read moreNothing “Epic” about my experience here. I’m sure that joke is definitely ran through. But seriously, what a terrible experience I had at this location. Order was read back to me by the cashier, which I always like, that tells me they want to get the order right. Good start. I wait for my order, (I ordered to-go) and 5 minutes later I was on my way. I work down the street so I planned on eating my lunch in my office. But no, except I find the burger had all the wrong ingredients on it. I ordered a very simple, very plain burger. Cheese and pickle only. But instead I got one loaded with what looked like onions, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. At this point I’m almost 30 minutes into my lunch and I drive back to the location. Guy behind counter asked “what’s wrong?” I said the burger was to be with pickle and cheese only, and he asked me “what would you like? For me to remake it for you?” Which honestly pissed me off because OBVIOUSLY I want it remade, and the tone he had just bothered me. So here I am again, waiting, wasting my time, and then he hands the new burger to me in a new bag and didn’t even apologize. Terrible customer service, terrible Communication skills on your staffs behalf, and zero empathy toward my situation. I guess I’m the the only person that values someone else’s time? Unreal. On top of all of this, the new burger, just yikes. It was rubber through out. Took 3 bites and it was just completely undercooked and rubbery and tasteless. I’m still picking out the rubbery pieces of beef in my teeth as I type this out. I mean come on guys. What are you doing here? Messed up my order, expressed zero empathy with me, barely apologetic, and then to top it off, you “replace” my wrong order with a literal piece of rubber....
Read moreThe food was really delicious, but the service sucked from the moment we walked in the door. My two daughters, my boyfriend & I visited the Epic Burger in Westfield mall on Friday Sep. 26, 2024 It was not busy at the moment that we entered the restaurant yet we received no greeting, not even from the lady standing there at the register, glaring at us as we walked inside!
1st, As I place my families order I accidentally said 3 burgers instead of two burgers and a chicken sandwich. I corrected my order before the order was sent to the back for preparation. Despite my timely, correction, she still expressed how annoyed she was that I changed my mind, and she literally tried to make me keep the burger instead of the sandwich and I hadn’t even paid yet!
2nd, I ask for a special accommodation on my burger. She refused to even inquire if it was a possibility she just said no. I asked the chef because he just so happened to come out from the back, because like I said there were no other patrons in the restaurant at the moment, The chef was more than happy to accommodate my request!
3rd after we all finished our burgers and fries, we decided we wanted some shakes. I ordered a strawberry shake and a coffee shake, but for some reason, she gave me a cookies and cream shake when I went to get the shake that I ordered rather than the one she decided to give me she commenced to go a back-and-forth and argue with me the PAYING CUSTOMER about what I ordered! Then I went to hand her the shake back so it could be remade. She snatched it out of my hand and vigorously, threw it into the trash. Needless to say, I’ll never be visiting that epic...
