New spot in town and I was curious to see what they offered. Started feeling a little nauseous while eating the Sea Bass, could only finish a few bites before I pushed it away. The side order of mushrooms were largely average and looked better than they tasted. Finally, for dessert I opted for the Cheesecake. I usually expect my Cheesecake to be chilled, this one wasn’t and I think it may have had to do with the brûlée type of shell on top, whatever the case, it did not impress. The service was good and the prices were hefty. Unlikely I’ll be going back. Update: Got convinced to give Capital Grille another chance. Came away disappointed again. My girlfriend loves Sea Bass and decided to try it after my bad experience a few days earlier. This time I went with the Salmon, which to my shock was undercooked, I’m attaching a picture here as well. My girlfriend enjoyed her Sea Bass but later that evening she did become sick, though we could not say for certain it was the Sea Bass. The staff here is really cool and nice and I can tell they work hard to please. I think the kitchen still has some things to figure out.

My family and I had a wonderful time at The Capital Grill for Mother's Day Brunch. We started with the delicious lobster bisque soup that was generously garnished with fresh lobster. Our entrées were an 8oz Filet cooked perfectly medium rare and a lobster frittata that was absolutely delightful. We were also delighted with the amazing, mixed bread basket and the flourless espresso cake that we enjoyed for dessert. For drinks my daughter ordered homemade mint lemonade which was refreshing and I ordered the Riondo SpagoNero Sparkling Wine that was recommended by our wonderful server. The service was exceptional, and we especially appreciate our server Melissa N. for being so attentive throughout our meal and for Manager Thomas Dierking for answer questions before the meal and checking up on our satisfaction with our dining experience. Overall, The Capital Grill did a great job in creating a memorable dining experience for us, and we cannot wait to return again soon!

The service here was cruise ship level excellent. Our waitress Kayla was super attentive. At one point I held my wine glass to the light because I thought there was a watermark imbedded in it (no watermark). Kayla rushed over to ask if my glass was dirty. She was Johnny-on-the-spot insuring our dining experience was exceptional. The steaks were tasty and the sides were good also. The only down side was it was about $100 a plate so I thought is was a bit pricey. My wife mentioned the value proposition is better with more people as the 2 sides we ordered was enough food for 4-5 plates. I’ll definitely try this place again with a bigger party.

First of all, let me start off by giving a quote that I’ve heard a while ago,” People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” While some have attributed this saying to Theodore Roosevelt, it is uncertain of where it’s really from. Originally I walked into a restaurant that I’ve actually enjoyed for quite some time now while I get that it was Mother’s Day and that I didn’t have a reservation, I was snubbed by one of the managers who didn’t even so much as come over to say hello. He just looked at me in disgust and walked away sending somebody else to greet me who told me that they were fully booked however, if I wanted to sit in an area they have that really isn’t comfortable for dining necessarily. I simply walked out with a smile on my face because this was my birthday, not just Mother’s Day and I knew that someone would be more than happy to take my money and do it with pleasure and excellence. I drove over to Capital Grille, one of my favorite restaurants‼️ And was greeted immediately & kindly by one of the managers by the name of Melody who told me that they were booked however, she gave me and option to sit at the bar and I said no thank you because I personally don’t like eating normally at bars however, she then said, we can make something happen & I patiently waited (& frankly because of the level of hospitality, I thought to myself,” maybe if they’re no more options, I will take the bar option possibly, or try another spot.) Anyway, next thing you know I was being whisked away by a wonderful hostess by the name of Raquel‼️ Raquel was so nice and kind taking me upstairs to a table that was beautifully decorated that had a yellow rose, a birthday card for me from the restaurant‼️ Next, I was immediately greeted by an awesome professional by the name of Julian who right from the start knew his stuff‼️ I mean what a consummate professional, a gentleman and a scholar for that matter. I did take a couple of his recommendations & thoroughly enjoyed them‼️😋 And he knew that menu‼️ What a great server & I highly recommend that you ask for Julian when you go there, if he’s available he will be so happy to take care of you‼️ I also met a server’s assistant who worked very hard the entire time by the name of Daniel‼️ What a wonderful professional young man‼️ The food of course, was absolutely delicious‼️ One can’t ever go wrong at a top tier restaurant such as this one‼️ I celebrated my mom here‼️ I started out with the Lobster Bisque soup🥰❤️😉I enjoyed the miso butter sea bass, its so scrumptious and made to perfection with asparagus! I also added a couple side dishes that were delectable: such as sautéed spinach and Brussels sprouts! Yummy‼️‼️‼️ Again, while Julian is an exceptional server that I will be going back soon to dine with because of his level of professionalism, I observed great teamwork on the floor, these guys all celebrated and served one another with passion, grace and gratitude! By the way, these are the qualities that Julian has in the palm of his hand. What a very talented individual. Thank you again Melody for making my holiday (birthday) so very special‼️ I will be more than glad to bring you more business as I do everywhere I go. Thx again and May God continue to richly bless your business in every way and...

We’ve been going to The Capital Grille in Skokie for years and always chose it for birthdays and anniversaries because the food and service were usually amazing. But sadly, our 10-year anniversary dinner there was such a horrible experience, we left completely disappointed.

We had made a reservation and noted that we were celebrating our anniversary. In the past, they’ve always made it special table set up with glitter, a card, nice little touches. But this time, the person who seated us didn’t acknowledge it at all, even when we mentioned it again politely. He just ignored it and sat us down.

From there, it kept going downhill. We didn’t even get the usual bread basket until we asked for it, and when it came, it was cold. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was also cold and just poorly made. We didn’t complain because we didn’t want to ruin the evening, but things didn’t get better.

What really hurt was seeing the manager go to the table next to us, check on them, and completely ignore us. That’s never happened before someone from the team always checks in, especially on a special occasion. Our server seemed uninterested, didn’t explain the dessert menu, and even forgot to refill our water.

At that point, we just wanted to leave. We told her we had to go pick up our son since it was getting late. After all the effort we put into arranging the night, getting childcare, and choosing this place — it felt like a total waste.

This was the worst experience we’ve had there, and honestly, I don’t think we’ll be going back. It’s sad because we really loved this place and were loyal customers, but this...

We just returned from dining with our dear friend of many years for Thanksgiving dinner and I felt compelled to write this review. My husband had ordered a Caesar Salad and I had ordered a Beet and Goat Cheese Salad. When I looked at the Caesar Salad I was a bit confused as it was all white! There was not one green piece of lettuce on the plate. It was all made from the white part of iceberg lettuce, and I had never seen a Caesar Salad that looked like that. Then came my Beet and Goat Cheese Salad.....this was in error, because what I had was a mixed green salad. When I called the waiter over, he took that salad away and came back with, I believe, the same salad with a few chopped beets on top and two half dollar flat rings of goat cheese on the bottom. 90% of the salad was fresh greens. In fact, when I mentioned this to the waiter, he stated that other people had mentioned the same thing. Well, if this had been complained about before, would the restaurant either change the wording of the salad to state greens with a dash of beets and accent of goat cheese, instead of reading a beet and goat cheese salad. Then we waited for a very long time for our dinner, over 30 minutes. Nothing was complicated, the turkey special, the tuna and the salmon. We had also asked for a bit more butter and that took mentioning to another waiter to finally get some. When the price of a dinner is $200 one would expect food to reflect that cost and the service to also be excellent. This was all very disappointing and we will not be dining...
