Just came here today on thanksgiving and ordered an eclair pyramid, waffle, crepe Nutella salad and mint lemonade.
When I received my order I got a Nutella shake instead of a Nutella fruit salad. I told the employee that this is not what I ordered and she told me to keep it which was great. Another employee came to me shortly after and said he would need to charge me the difference and tried taking the shake back that the employee said we could drink. I told him his colleague said we could keep it and he asked me who told me that (no support or trust for your fellow colleagues??) He then asked me to come to the counter while I was eating to go pay for it which was rude but fine. The manager was at the front and she asked me to pay the difference and then proceeded to tell me that I should not order with a large group next time and that they repeat their order multiple times before they place. I informed her that I was the only one ordering and repeated the same information back to me again saying I should order by myself next time.
I found this extremely disrespectful to talk to a customer and tell them not to order in a group which is exactly what I did. But to also tell me to make sure that I know what’s being ordered. The employee who took my order saw me point to the menu and say Nutella fruit salad (doesn’t even sound close to Nutella milkshake).
Weird experience, rude manager and rude man. I felt bad for the employee as well on how they were...
Read moreI’m going to assume you already know that Melt n Dip legitimately has the best tasting chocolate of any place you’ll ever go. I’m going to also assume you knew driving an hour to the Bridgeview location was worth it just for one of their brownie crepes. I’m going to assume you also sometimes have flashes where you imagine licking that heavenly chocolate and then feel disappointed when you realize you live so far away and nothing in the area comes close, no matter how much you spend.
Well I’m happy to let you know that you’ve been chosen and blessed to be near Niles. This Niles location is big with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating, the same amazing menu and taste, very friendly staff, and someone keeping the place continuously clean even with huge crowds in and out the whole time we were there.
Of course I had the brownie crepe which was amazing (and big enough for all three of us to share). The only thing I would suggest is to be prepared to wait a bit in line, which went out the door the entire time we were there. Once you place your order it does come fairly quickly though. Prices are also amazing (especially considering it’s big enough to share).
RIP all other dessert places in the Northshore suburbs. Melt n Dip is here. You’ll need to find different day jobs now.
And RIP to any diet goals I may have had, because I finally live close enough to try everything on the menu, which will be my goal...
Read moreWe recently visited Melt n Dip on a trip to chicago, we heard a lot about their indulgent crepes, delectable ice cream, and heavenly eclairs. While the desserts did not disappoint in terms of taste and presentation, I couldn't ignore the steep prices that accompanied each treat.
The quality of the desserts at Melt n Dip is undoubtedly top-notch. The crepes were thin and perfectly cooked, enveloping flavorful fillings that melted in the mouth. The ice cream boasted rich, creamy textures and a variety of tempting flavors. The eclairs were a delightful blend of light pastry and luscious fillings. They had a lot of items to choice from.
However, my enthusiasm was tempered by the pricing strategy of the shop. Each item on the menu seemed to come with a premium price tag, making it challenging to fully enjoy the experience without feeling a pang of guilt over the cost. I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was paying more for the brand than the actual product. $75 for just 4 dessert items will give you a hit of when I mean. If you got that kinda money… then Mashallah 😌
The portion size was pretty big though. The ambiance was pleasant, with a good amount of seating and friendly staff members. The shop's cleanliness and attention to detail added to the overall positive impression. They also had one of those robots that brought you your dessert to...
