Niles Brewing Company — Restaurant in Niles

Update: I've been back to visit, and unfortunately received a flavorless glass of what was supposed to be "Fruit Punch Wow." It tasted of nothing but sour water. My waitress couldn't believe it, but she did eventually remove it from the bill without my asking, which was nice of her. The mixed drink I had was quite good, although pricey for what is essentially a margarita with Sprite added. I'm still waiting to get a good pint. I know what it is supposed to taste like, and unfortunately, either the recipe has changed horribly since I first tried it, or something else keeps going wrong. Either way, I would avoid trying a brew from Niles Brewing Company. I will return eventually to try again.

This is a great place to go if you are new to the beer scene, especially if you have a sweeter palate. It feels like you're going into a bar but it's actually a brewing company. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the food, save the pretzels and beer cheese because BEER CHEESE! But the beers are unique in that they tend to lean towards a desserty vibe. From left to right, Blue Raspberry Lemon Hammerhead Shark, Key Lime Pie Hammerhead Shark, Grape Wow, and Blackberry Cobbler Ala Mode Hammerhead Shark. All of them are tart ales. Sadly, the beer here was a miss. My husband and I travel to breweries all over the country, and this has to be one of the worst we've experienced. My husband has also been a professional brewer for over 25 years. We both ordered flights, but the majority of the beers were infected. The worker tried to pawn it off as grapefruit. We had high hopes, as there were many beer offerings and a lot of pastry sours that looked promising. The service was fine, but the place wasn't super clean.
