If you haven’t been to The Study, you are seriously missing out on one of the absolute best nights out in downtown Niles.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like family by staff members like Adam and Moe —two of the friendliest, funniest, and most genuinely welcoming people you’ll ever meet. They’ve created a vibe that’s equal parts laid-back hangout and electric comedy hotspot.

Let’s talk about the drinks: The Dirty Bathtub alone is worth the trip. It’s their signature cocktail, and somehow it’s both delicious and dangerous in the best possible way. Pair that with a rotating selection of drinks that will keep any cocktail lover happy, and you’ve got a recipe for a perfect evening.

The comedy shows here are consistently top-notch—whether it’s a local up-and-comer trying out new material or a seasoned pro dropping in for a surprise set, you’re guaranteed to laugh until it hurts. There’s something about the intimate setting that makes every performance feel special.

Honestly, I can’t recommend The Study enough. Go for the comedy, stay for the drinks, and come back because the staff and community make you feel like you belong. Five stars...

Our friends own this place. They've put their hearts and souls into this and it has come to fruition! The Study is where you go to RELAX and enjoy a drink or 5 but the catch is, you actually have to communicate with the people around you. It's warm and inviting. It's cozy. They have a GAME room... Not what you think... There's a table in this room with BOARDGAMES and cards. Like I said, you have to communicate with people. You actually kinda forget about your cell phone bc we're all trying to figure out how to act again after the last several years of LOCKDOWN. (But here I am, doing a review).

Their drinks are AHHHHMAZING. A wide variety of adult drinks. Please don't go in there without trying something NEW. Alec, the cool bar guy, he is AT YOUR SERVICE. Sweetest guy. Very proper. AND HE'S FRENCH. A real Frenchman in the city of Niles. Picture it. Try something different in 2024.

“The Study” is a speakeasy style “bar” in Niles with amazing decor, drinks and wonderful staff!

Upon entering you ring a doorbell and must figure out the password to gain access (It’s a speakeasy, no snitches allowed!). The password can be deciphered from clues on the walls (I promise it’s easy, no escape room level puzzles).

Once in the speakeasy, the chairs, lighting and decor is all reflective of the time period, and the ambiance is immaculate!

We came in for the first ever “Wine Down Wednesday” right as they opened, and once we figured out the password we were guided in by some of the most welcoming staff I have ever encountered. I ordered one of the many old fashioned’s they have on their menu and it was one of the best I have had. Later they brought me another on the house, and this one was better than the last! My wife had a Cosmo and a daquiri and they were both excellent. The bartender definitely knows her stuff!
