Some sort of entitled, obviously disturbed man sat at the bar with his girlfriend. Got offended when I referred to him as sir. From that point was inconsolable and hostile. Bartender asked me to leave after I had repeatedly bowed to this whack job patron. So in essence this male power weirdo ejected me for using the title sir in an exchange at arrival. Bartender begged me to talk to management, when I mentioned that I doubted that the owners would enjoy finding out cash carrying customers are being sent away because of a disturbed regular. Please. Do yourself a favor. Eat the burger, they’re the best in town. but absolutely do not expect respect and dignity to be shown. A disgrace to advancement in understanding between humans. If I could given a negative star after today's experience I would have. I am a frequent customer. However, this evening I came in with my husband. Both women working the bar and the tables were in the back area. I could see the menus were at the bar so I helped myself to 2 menus. The women working the bar got so offended by the fact that I touched the menus sitting across the aisle from my table. We ordered drinks the waitress went up to the bar to get them and the bartender made some rude comments about if we really needed her to get them or would I like to get them myself. I asked my waitress if they would prefer us to leave, as there was an awfully big deal being made out of me grabbing menus that were located across from My table. Needled to say we did not stay to eat as I don't need someone spitting in my food over...

When you want cheap drinks with fast service, there is no better place to go. I rarely go to the bars in Niles, but when I do, I go to the Tavern. While it is a small and dark location, the atmosphere is anything but that. If you have never been there before, you are missing out. I have ordered their food only occasionally so I can't really comment, but from what I have heard from everyone else, it is great bar food.

One last thing that adds to the eclectic nature: ONLY CASH! There is an ATM on site, but if you want to save $3 surcharge, remember to bring cash. How much should you bring? Honestly, $20 might...
