Overall mediocre hibachi experience.
The alcoholic drinks were strong and reasonably priced (+).
The service was decent, but a little slow (from taking orders to item delivery and dealing with checks).
Ordered a chef's special sushi appetizer, as well as filet and scallops hibachi (on the hibachi side of the restaurant).
The salad was 3/5. It was okay, but the bottom 2cm of my dish was a pool of dressing mixed with water from the lettuce being washed. (At least it was washed?)
The soup was pretty good (4/5). The raw mushrooms probably needed to sit in the hot soup for a little longer too cook. I was worried that the soup was too clear, but the flavor was good.
The chefs choice sushi appetizer: 0/5. If I had any positives, the texture on the salmon was okay. The dish consisted of: 2x salmon sushi, 2x tuna sushi, and 2x red snapper sushi. The salmon texture was good, the flavor was weak but not off-putting. The snapper texture was on the chewy side, and the flavor was fishy. It definitely wasn't fresh. The tuna was awful. Texture was off, and not only was it fishy, but it was slightly sour and bitter.
Hibachi: The show was okay. I appreciate that the chef didn't force people to do anything that they weren't interested in doing.
The fried rice was over salted and lacked flavor. Not enough garlic butter was used, and I think the soy sauce was full sodium (so they couldn't use enough... And this was essentially the theme of every single part of the hibachi dishes. Too much salt, not enough sauces to import a lot of flavor. Noodles were the same (and overcooked). We ordered our filet rare, and it was bordering medium when it hit the plate. I forgive this because I prefer my steak medium rare, and I always order it rare at hibachi restaurants because they always overcook it. The shrimp and scallops were both overcooked and chewy. The vegetables were lacking flavor, and were the last thing on the plate. Why serve the veggies last? They should be the second hibachi course out after the fried rice.
I think they should have their butter separate from their minced garlic so they can season and flavor dishes appropriately, and remove the salt from their dry seasoning to let it all come from the soy.
I'm being nice with three stars, I could have gone for two. (My real feeling is a 5/10, which is 2.5). I'm not saying I won't go back, but I'm definitely trying some other hibachi restaurants before returning.
I wouldn't ever come here for...
Read moreServer ruined our experience. 5 of us Sat down at Hibachi table and we were in the middle of ordering a few sushi rolls then the waitress interrupted us saying if we don’t have a minimum of 3 hibachi orders we would have to move from the table. How rude! Let us finish ordering first before threatening us to move. We were going to order more sushi but after that we just ordered the hibachi. Plus while we were ordering the sushi and asking questions she made us feel stupid for asking about the different rolls. Why? If you don’t want to be a server or be nice to customers then don’t come to work. We dont go out and spend our money to be treated so rudely. My daughter was eating the salad and hadn’t started drinking her soup and waitress comes and looks at soup and says “are you done.” What? Does it look like she’s done. The soup bowl is full and not even touched. She’s not even giving us a chance to eat and she wants to take the plates from in front of us. As far as the Hibachi it was good but shrimp was a little over cooked. Towards the end of the evening while we are still eating same waitress comes and starts giving us to go containers. Again rushing us! Then while my daughter was still eating she takes the plate from under her while she’s eating some noodles. My daughter was shocked and just didn’t know what to say. At no point did the waitress ever ask us if we needed anything else. If we wanted desert. Nothing! We just felt rushed and she wanted us to leave. Brings us a plastic bag and starts putting the containers in the bag. Honestly didn’t want to leave a tip at all but left a small amount even though she really didn’t deserve it with that rude rushed service. Told front staff but have no idea if they will actually do anything about it. We would have actually ordered more food if she wasn’t rushing us, rude and disrespectful. She definitely needs to be retrained or she needs to find a different line of work. Not sure if I would go back. Lots of other options so...
Read moreI'm tired of trying to explain and justify the bad customer service experience we have here compared to the food. It all started with what I feel was false advertising around their coupons. They offered a deal for spending so much on dinner, but failed to mention the deal was only good for certain days within a certain time period.
We are now 3 for 3 on where the drinks are rarely refilled and you have to track someone down if you have any plans of getting something from the bar, and completely forget trying to get more than one.
The food is good enough to keep us coming back, so we finally decided to try take out. We placed our order using their online vendor. 10 minutes later (after successfully running and charging the card), I received a call from the restaurant asking to confirm I knew the location of the restaurant because my area code on my cell does not match the restaurant - didn't have a problem with this but felt a bit annoyed it took so long to call. They told me 25-30 minutes for pickup. 5 minutes later, the vendor called me and asked for me to verify my card address and informed me I would be required to provide photo ID when we arrived. Once satisfied I was who I said, they informed me they would have to contact their security team to clear the restaurant to make our food. Baring in mind that my card has already been cleared and my bank is satisfied that I am who and where I say I am, it is now over 20 minutes past when I submitted the order. I waited a few minutes more to call and check the status of my order before driving over and was told the vendor placed a hold on the food and they had not even started - it would now be 40 minutes once they were told ok. Enough was enough - I cancelled my order and will no longer be making excuses for the horrible experience...
