Black owned businesses expect our community to support, but won’t provide the customer service. Boss Queens Soul Cafe is that place. We arrived, ready to enjoy a delicious meal and immediately seated. Looking at the menu, the food looked great and appetizing. Well, we’re 10 minutes in, not a busy Saturday night for them and no one has come to our table to acknowledge us and/or take our drink orders. Got up and walked around the restaurant to see how packed the place was and it wasn’t. 20 minutes later, still no one to greet us, take orders, nothing.
The crazy part is, the owner looked directly at us, while four staff members stood behind the counter, sorting menus and straightening carry out bags. Is this how you run and manage your business? You have to do better, we deserve better.
The first time that I ate here, I was thoroughly impressed. Now that Boss Queens “no customer service” Soul Food has gotten a little popularity and automatically adds the gratuity to the check, customer service and customer satisfaction is taken for granted.
You will probably read this and say, I lost three customers but will gain twice as many, because the new customer don’t know how bad your customer service is.
If you are going to have a business and want the support of the community, then you need to provide a level of customer service that is at the next level. You should make your customers want to come back because you and your team acknowledged them and gave them the royal treatment. You could learn from Chik fil a, they have perfected customer service.
What you and your team showed is, we don’t care how the customer feel, we don’t believe in Boss Queens Soul Food, this is just a job, we don’t believe is the leadership/management and the customers don’t matter.
Reading other reviews BQSF is 50/50 and only surviving because you’re new to those that don’t know.
Boss Queens, encourage your team, uplift your team, be part of the team, support your team and show and encourage them to be better. Your community can be your biggest fan and your worse enemy. You make the choice on what you want for the future of BQSF.
We won’t be back, nor will I recommend your establishment. There is no time to waste my time and money.
For those that are planning on visiting BQSF, read the reviews, observe the atmosphere when you walk in, look at the faces of the people sitting down with no drinks and ask them how how they have been there. Then determine how much time you want to waste.
NOTE: The hostess sat us in an area, with customers in the area and the waitress looked directly at us. Please make it make sense. How can you ask for a good review when you didn't provide consistent good customer service? Take your reviews as constructive criticism, and use the...
Read moreToday was my sixth time going to Boss Queens. I’ll be honest, in the past their food has been hit or miss. I’ve always been lucky with the good plates although my family members always seem to order the thing that they end up disappointed with. But because of our track record of getting lucky? We keep coming back. But after our experience today, I have to leave an actual review.
My son loves their meatloaf and has been asking to go for a while. So we went hoping to have what we normally get: the meatloaf, and the baked chicken. After we ordered the waitress told us the meatloaf was out, so we ordered a wing plate instead. We also ordered a sweet potato pie slice. After waiting thirty mins, the waitress, who was exceptionally kind, broke the news to us that the kitchen was out of sweet potato pie and instead, they would give us another dessert on the house. So we ordered the apple pie with a side of sweet potato’s. Then after waiting another twenty mins, the waitress informed us that the kitchen was backed up and running behind. I should have left when I watched two other tables get up and go without food. Tonight was a particularly busy night. It must have been absolutely disorganized in the kitchen because I’ve never seen it like that. To add to injury, we sat almost near the door and the music was excessively loud. It’s basically a night club on a Sunday night.
Lesson learned: avoid Sunday evenings at all cost and if you want something in particular, call and ask if it’s in stock before arriving.
Very disappointed because the waitress was kind. This was our second time recently being let down, after the last time we went and had food that was less than their standard. Tonight we didn’t have any food to judge. I left after the second let down, and I don’t think I will be returning. I should have left when I seen three tables speak to the Manager about their experience. I just thought “everyone is always complaining about something.” Lol. Yea, I ignored the hints and paid for it in my time.
I’m sad because this was one of my favorite spots at one time, but I think tonight hurt more than I can allow the chance to repeat.
So yes, the food is great mostly but not worth dining in waiting a hour for. Also, I recommend others go on a day during the week that does not have the DJ, and you will likely enjoy your time there more. It felt very weird to go there after church with a DJ. I felt convicted. And then after the experience of repeatedly being told they were out of something, I can’t do this to my son again. I’ve told so many people of this place and many have tried it. This just breaks my heart that today was such a bad experience at...
Read moreI’ve spent a lot of money coming to this establishment to eat. My family has spent a lot of money here as well. Yesterday after being at the hospital for hours we decided to come here and order food to go. The lady said she would give us our drinks when we picked up our order but we asked for one of those now since a few of our family members had to get on the road. When my husband went in to pick up our order he was never given his $4 drink. Big or small, I believe this establishment should make sure a person has their whole order. We called back and told the lady what happened and she said “I mean, what do you want us to do?” I asked if they could document somewhere that we didn’t get it so we could get it another time. I was told “we don’t do that.” I told her I believe it’s their responsibility to make sure a paying customer receives all of their food they paid for. She became hostile and tells me it’s my responsibility to make sure I pick up the entire order. So if I have someone else pick it up that person has to make sure you, as the person who is being paid, completed the order you were paid to fulfill. When I asked for a refund she tells me they’re not doing that and to have a great day. I will NEVER and I do mean NEVER spend another penny at this establishment. Customer service is not something they value. My order alone was almost $63 and that doesn’t include what my family spent. The food was good but the way you treat me as a customer when I spend my hard earned money there is a big turn off for me. Support this business if you want but I truly believe the reason they act like this is due to the fact they believe people are going to support anyway. It’s sad because I’ve actually said nothing but good things about this place anytime I’ve heard something negative about them. The customers who make it possible for your business to flourish should be your top priority. I shouldn’t have to drive all the way back for a drink your employees were supposed to make sure we got since the receipt was right there and we are paying you for a service, no matter the price. They were about to close anyway and when I thought about turning around, we wouldn’t have made it by 7. Unprofessional and attitudes for a business...
