Locals Marketplace — Local services in Norfolk

As a vendor that didn’t even stay the full time I paid for because it was so bad in a few weeks, I recommend other vendors to stay away from here. The owner herself takes 0 accountability for anything going wrong, including repeatedly having the store closed during business hours. The reason for this is because you’ll be expected to both pay to have a spot in the store, as well as volunteer to work on top of that. So people don’t show up for their shifts, meanwhile she’ll laugh at you for asking for some type of compensation for not being open (it was twice within 2 weeks). Who knows how much more often than that since those are just the times I caught it because I was going to restock. I’m fully expecting a response of “there was family emergencies” etc when even the teachers pet vendor said it was her herself that was supposed to be there, and no one knows who has one of the 2 keys that get passed around between everyone.

They don’t offer WiFi so to even have a camera you have to pay for your own hotspot on top of your space.

They don’t tell you upfront about events, the fact they’ll expect you to “volunteer” for manning the store, they’ll try to push you into how to set up your own spot, tell you that you can’t have a pop up table when every single vendor has one, just look around, and they are rude as HELL. These are just some of the reasons they have such a high turnover rate.

When I said I wouldn’t be staying to renew the owner (Victoria) made sure to let me know that she already had someone to take my spot (there’s plenty of other empty ones, so sure thing) trying to get a dig at me, but I happily gathered all my stuff anyways, because that’s not worth my time and energy, but I am here to help save some of...
