Food is fresh, it is like sushi food in rice and or soft taco roll, interesting enough you can order in any fashion, they do have like 8 different condiment sauces you can try ranging from mild, sweet and extremely hot depending on your taste buds. (((Now comes))) the delicious part is where they shine! They have fresh brewed bubble tea! I ordered regular green tea with 70% sugar and they looked at me odd lol, then I ordered there famous Taro Milk Tea with Bubbles, they do have three fresh brew tea's to choose from for your mix, They have black tea, green tea and something much harsher called oolong tea which is equally as delicious and fresh, probably because they are across the Norfolk IRS building, those long hours they put in that coffee can't keep them awake. Bathroom: they are private single bathrooms that are wheelchair friendly and clean. Also they have paper towels which is a plus on my review since blowers have proven to spread germs (Look it up or bring your own Fluorescent light like I do) . although the door does not have a auto open button and is a little difficult to get through since you have 2 doors, the restraint overall feels nice and cool hence the two door protocol. I initially gave them 5 stars but resulted to 4 because of decor! They need to put more decor flavor, not more stuff but get a interior decorator that will help with there name brand so when the day comes to expand then all the stores will look somewhat the same like the designs on a flag. Overall I recommend this place but make sure you bring $20 that will also be enough to include tip, the Taro bundle tea and a two protein bowl. You will be leaving with some change in your pocket, the pricing is average for downtown Norfolk since property tax is sky high for owners. Thank you my Chinese people in Norfolk for opening a...
Read moreI ordered from Pokey via DoorDash. I had no idea what to expect. My only other experiences with Poke Bowls came from a sushi restaurant and a prepacked instant version from Aldi. Now the first experience at the sushi restaurant was fine but it felt off. And the instant version from Aldi was downright awful. Today's experience blew my first two experiences out of the water! The first thing thing you see when you order is a plethora of options to customize your personal bowl. From Ahi Tuna to salmon to even octopus! But that's barely scratching the surface as you can also choose the sauce type, what fresh vegetables you'd like in it, and even the style of rice. I placed my order and waited with giddy excitement. I was somewhat nervous until the food got here.
When I saw the bowl given and the beautiful way it looked inside I knew I was in for something truly special. Let's start with the most important element. The fish. It was beautiful and fresh. And when you're eating raw fish these are important elements. And marrying that incredible fresh salmon and tuna with fresh vegetables and delicious sushi rice makes this an experience you do not want to pass up.
To put it succinctly, if you want great food eat here. I will be going back again. And again. And again. But don't take my word for it. Go there and find out for yourself just how amazing their...

A lot to like here, starting with the friendly staff. Greetings all around, and they were very clear on providing and overview.
The seating and decoration is also quite quaint. Cute lighting, sensible seating options, and well lit.
Where Pokey distants themselves from others is their menu. Huge images, easy to read ingredients, clear instruction. I honestly couldn't improve it.
The food, fair assortment of fish, with two tuna, salmon, shrimp, octo, Hamachi and vegan fare. They also had a lot of fruit mix ins, giving it that Hawaiian feel.
Let's talk minor misses. I would've liked panko for my crunchy bits. Additionally, while I planned to eat there, everything got packed up without asking me. Lastly, I didn't see the drink options or extra soy (they might have been there and I missed them.). Most of these I would chalk to grand opening easy tweaks.
Oh, Pokey also does dessert! I'm usually not hungry after a huge bowl, but the tiramisu was delicious!
Overall, Pokey is an awesome addition to the Poke movement here in the...
