I've been living downtown the past few years and I used to come to this shop when it was the Virginia Cheese Shop. Ohh yay! The sandwiches haven't changed one bit. I love the rebranding name Sirens Subs. Anything mermaid I'm all for because Norfolk's mascot is obviously a mermaid. This cute little sandwich shop is a go to of mine because it's honestly the closest shop to my house. I'm thankful to have this shop in the area. If you know me then you know that I will try anything twice. I've only had great sandwiches here. The local sub names are a cool touch to the menu. My goal is to try as many sandwiches on the menu as I can. As of right now, my top two subs are the Norfolk Club without ham and the Lemon-Whipped Feta on rotation. I hope they bring back some grilled cheese seasonal sandwiches in the fall and near the holidays like they had at the Virginia Cheese Shop days. I really would go more often if they were open after my work hours. The service is fast with a simple order kiosk at the front for in dining and to go orders. A must go to on days off though or I would spend all my money here. The hours for Sirens Subs are Tuesday-Saturday 11am-3pm. Go check out these subs and show them some love by giving them a review.

I absolutely love this place! I tried their Norfolk Club sandwich when they first opened and now it’s something I crave literally once a week. I live on the opposite side of Norfolk and I still visit regularly because this place is just that good. Cheese might be in the name but even if it’s not what you’re looking for, this is one of the best spots to relax while enjoying a great sandwich and a beer on draft or glass of wine. If you love wine like I do, they have an incredible and diverse assortment. I’ve purchased about 10 so far and every single one punches well above its price point. Sometimes I skip my local wine shop and come here to stock up on my favorites. You can tell a lot of effort went into picking what wines stay on their shelf and I really love that they also feature some of the best wines made here locally in Virginia. Anytime I’ve needed help with a cheese and wine paring, they have been very knowledgeable and helpful.

I stopped into Sirens Subs and ordered the Amore Sandwich, Zack’s Way on fresh focaccia—and wow, it completely blew me away. From the very first bite, the flavors instantly transported me back to my time in Italy. The focaccia had that perfect crunch on the outside with a soft, airy inside, and the layers of meats, cheese, and fresh toppings came together in true Italian fashion. What makes this place even more impressive is that it’s a one-woman operation. The quality, care, and flavor packed into every bite show just how much passion is behind the counter. Sirens is definitely punching way above its weight, delivering sandwiches that rival (and honestly surpass) most big-name spots. This may very well be the best sandwich shop in Norfolk. If you’re looking for a sub that feels more like an experience than just a meal, Sirens Subs is the place.

I gave them a one star, here's why. I ordered a muffaletta. The sandwich was made quickly as I was the only order waiting. I got the sandwich to go, big mistake. When I got to the office , I realized they had served the sandwich cold. For $15.75, I think the sandwich should have been at minimum served on oven warned bread. It was like holding a cold brick because they loaded it up with cheese. This turned up to be the worse muffaletta I have ever eaten. Don't order this sandwich unless you inform them to heat up the bread at least, which is not what a muffaletta is traditionally served on. Horrible sandwich if served cold plus the bread was crumbling apart. I feel like I got ripped off. Bad deal and I'll never eat there again.

Nope, it was $15.75. I have the receipt on my phone. Apparently, you folks charged me extra for being served cold. If you offer the sandwich hot, why didn't you inform me rather than serving it cold? Just so you know, no one serves this sandwich cold. I'm pretty sure no one will be pleased to pay $15.75 for a cold sandwich. Just to set the record straight, I did ask to see the bread because I've never heard of a muffaletta served on it. But that didn't mean I wanted it cold. No body served a muffaletta cold. Maybe that's why the neighboring sandwich shop was packed and yours is emptied. I...

Not quite sure where all these stellar reviews are coming from. Made two special trips to come to this store for some specific items, one being a sandwich. When we got there they said they only had one option which was the special croque monsieur. We said ok great they said yes we have them Premade…what??? You’re a specialty cheese shop and have PREMADE sandwiches?! (For not cheap) Made a second trip for buffalo mozzarella for a salad recipe. Asked if they had buff mozz, they said no. Do you have any other mozzarella? They said hang on…went to the back and tried to recommend another Australian cheese that was nowhere close to a buff mozz. I said well we are looking for something more crumbly and tasting like that buff mozz or another mozz cheese. She said well you can try brie or blue cheese. Ok no ha that is nowhere near close to what we asked for and like…you’re a speciality cheese shop with VERY expensive cheese and you recommend a brie or blue cheese? Moral of the story we...
