Crave Bakery + Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Norfolk

We got a bunch of pastries and pre-made items from the displays. We were given plenty of time to look over everything and we felt comfortable asking questions. The gentleman who rung us up and got our items was very friendly and answered the best he could, asking for help from the woman who I believe was the owner. She would come out to answer and speak to us directly. Very helpful and friendly.

Food: *Big selection!! Salads, breakfast sandwiches, cakes, cookies, brownies, coffees... *Vegan and keto options *My partner's favorite thing was the Oreo cheesecake and mine was the cake pop (it's HUGE), but everything we chose was good. *Everything in the cases was presented really nicely. The cupcakes were decorated so cute!

Customer service: *The gentleman helping us was very friendly and made pleasant chit chat *He also double checked multiple times we got everything correct in the order as we were rung up (we ordered A LOT) *They brought out a cake for a customer to see as a reference because he was asking for sizes. Super friendly!

Ambiance: *Calm chill vibes *Good music selection, and not loud at all *Comfy looking seating options

I visited the bakery around 10:15 AM and didn’t receive my full order until almost 11:00 AM. I understand that delays can occur, especially with freshly made items and new employees, which I was made aware of by a woman I assume to be the owner. While I was initially patient, the atmosphere quickly became uncomfortable. The owner appeared visibly frustrated and spoke to the staff in a condescending tone, which seemed to unsettle them and contribute to an overall sense of stress, despite there being only a few customers present.

In terms of the order, the cold brew was mediocre, and the refresher drinks came with coconut milk, which was not listed on the website or menu and did not match our request for lemonade but we didn’t notice this until after we arrived back into the office and looked at the receipt. Overall, the visit felt disorganized and tense, and I left feeling more concerned for the staff than satisfied with...

My daughter and I stopped by while we were in downtown Norfolk as we love to try out new independent coffee shops. The owners were SO nice and answered any questions we had. We decided to grab a bite to eat and a coffee and well you can’t pass up dessert there! Everything is homemade and SO good. Sometimes I don’t like getting cupcakes because the cake can be too dry or too much icing so when I tell you that these cupcakes were absolutely amazing. You have to go try one. They even have vegan and keto cupcakes there as well. I had the turkey, avocado and fig sandwich on sourdough bread. The combination of the flavors in that sandwich made for such an original combination that was delicious.
