Crab and Catfish Co Seafood & Social — Restaurant in Norman

First off let me start by saying the food here was The Bomb Dot Com my spouse and I agree. Got food to go from here the other day, on Sunday, and Catfish and Shrimp is a great Sunday Meal. We met a man from the East Coast, I too am from the East born there but raised mainly in Cali. I heard that accent, and instantly knew this was the spot. Furthermore he said he was Puerto Rican, and if I were into men I'd holler😜 We placed a to-go order it was the meal with 3 Catfish Filets, and 10 Shrimp w/ Waffle Fries, everythang crispy like a two dollar bill, and yes those exist people I have several of them. On Sunday it wasn't crowded so we didn't wait, just a short time for them to cook the food up fresh, the place was clean as well, and we noticed the drink menu at the bar, and decided we would be back based on those drinks alone we read about. However we will be back now based on this food baby. It smelled so good riding home with it, and looked so good when we got home, and tasted so good. The Catfish was tender inside, the shrimp was juicy and the waffle fries had a nice, but light seasoning on them. Thanks y'all for not going too heavy handed with that, I'm Low Sodium🤣 I would return today, but for real I watch my sodium gotta go eat a salad or two first, and then ill be back so maybe salad for lunch today and them for dinner, yeah that should do it😉 Anywho everyone please check them out, and the prices are right, and they give Military Discounts, I am a Disabled Military Veteran.(US Air Force, for those curious don't hate congradulate we got you covered in the skies, you know you hear us coming around here.) Waiting on a friend to meet me nearby with time to spare, i wanted to find a bar for a couple of drinks. Crab & Catfish Co. was just a couple of blocks away, so I strolled over. I opened the front door and immediately saw Miss MeMe behind the bar and ever so friendly patron talking. They immediately welcomed me in. I asked if I could sit with them for a while, and they both happily accepted. I bellied up to the bar and had a menu and was asked what I wanted before my butt hit the seat. I ordered a vodka/cranberry and said I'll hold off on food for now. My drink was exactly how I like them, more grains than fruits 😋. I chatted up Miss MeMe and the patron for a bit and began looking over the menu. The patron ordered some food, and I was doing pretty with just my drink until that marvelous aroma of Cajun shrimp spiced shrimp, corn, and potatoes hit my nose holes Miss MeMe obviously knew where my brain was going and asked again if I was good with my drink only and that they have a wonderful 2 fish & fries basket. I happily accepted. My food came out quickly and was too hot to touch. After what seemed like hours of the delicious smell, I couldn't wait anymore. The fries were perfectly crispy along with nice catfish fillets in a cornmeal, perfectly seasoned batter. I ate my entire plate, and all the while, MeMe made sure I was doing good. The food makes it worth visiting, the service is a train wreck. Ownership needs to hire someone that knows how to run the front of the house.

Seriously, get some waiters that have sections, get a host/hostess and it will be an exponentially better experience for everyone including the workers.

It's close to being fantastic since the food was wonderful, when you wait 5+ minutes to be greeted and have no actual server that isn't covering the entire restaurant floor, it's disappointing. They're new so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll figure it out. Having worked in restaurants all through my youth, this is not how you build repeat business.

I'm pulling for them though! Just be patient while they're going through their learning curve. Also, expect EVERYTHING to have some spice, even the "non-spicy", some people were confused by this there. They put seasoning in everything.
