Very great experience at this waffle house. The service was great! I ordered a fried potato cake, it came out with cheese, it looks a little different to the picture on the menu. The waitress, her name is Kayla , she said she could cook @ new one for me. I said it was okay, I will try the new looking one. But later like 2 minutes she brought a new one without cheese on the top. She said "just in case". She is very nice. Even asked my husband and I if want to have coffee to go. Well, I want to say, the success of this restaurant was not a coincidence. We could tell when we saw their team works under the mangers leading. Kayla told us that day we went was the manager's 23 years working in the waffle house. The manager lady was temporary covered the manager if the restaurant because the manager went to vocation. The lady manager is very excellent worker, even temporary work at this restaurant from the other waffle house, she knows every employees names. She called every employees work for the next step. There are three cooks, two if them are seniors ages, you could tell they cook very well; the third one was a news one, not fast as the other two, a little bit in rush, but he was getting there. The lady manager helped for cook, call food ordered, and coordinated the whole team work perfectly. I was amazed. There were seven employees worked there, none if those were checking phone or do something else. She managed very well, experienced employees in charge of cooking, younger employees talked and waitressed customers. My husband and I were amazed by their great team work on that busy morning. I will ask him later the manager name, I think tgd team work of walffel house reflects their core value of their restaurant culture. Very recommend to this place. Read moreI’ve been to this location a few times. Two times in a row they’ve gotten my order wrong. I overpaid for items I didn’t get in both instances. I didn’t get the order corrected either time simply because I didn’t have the time to wait. The ladies in there are great employees, but Tyler is absolutely brain dead. My most recent experience here was me calling 20 mins ahead for a To-Go order. Tyler took my order over the phone. Not only was my order not ready when I got there, he hadn’t even let the cook know the order needed to be made. When I arrived he didn’t apologize, he didn’t offer a drink or anything to suffice for his incompetence, he simply looked around and waited... not sure what he was waiting for. The cook asked about the To-Go order simply because she remembered someone calling in awhile back. He said, “Oh yeah... I forgot.” He finally made her aware of what the order was (I listened to him give the order wrong despite him having the order on the table feet away from him. Not sure why he didn’t just read the order as opposed to trying to recite it from memory...) and I waited another 25 mins for her to finish the orders she had already started and then in a very timely fashion, got my order completed. I could see the frustration on her face and I’m not at all upset with her. But Tyler should probably be re-evaluated as an employee. I doubt I’ll be back, especially if he answers the phone for a To-Go order. I’ve never been so frustrated with a restaurant experience as I was watching him single handedly get them over run with customers as they filed in after each other. Read more06/27/19 I went there around 11:45 AM. I entered inside this waffle house I noticed no one said HELLO or anything. Then I sat at the table, I was waiting for someone to come and ask me what I want. No one came, after few minutes the guy was cooking and he looked at me I asked him is anyone working here? He came and ask me are you ready to order. I told him I been ready since I came here if you guys care about customers you should have asked earlier. I did not want to eat there but I wanted to observe how their customer service is? Finally food came. They did not ask me what I wanted to drink but I ordered a coffee. I was eating and after few minutes I saw one white couple came they sat right next table to me. I noticed the girl works there, went to their table and asked HELLO, HOW ARE YOU GUYS DOING AND BLAH BLAH!!! Then she asked them first what you would like to drink? I am like I came here little bit ago you did not ask me anything like that. The silverware they gave me were dirty too, I asked one girl to change it she looked at me like I asked her something wrong. This whole thing did not happen only in norman but the waffle house in moore off of the 19th st this thing happened there too. Servers at waffle house in norman and moore are racist.
