I have never felt the need to write one of these, but after the service I received last night, I am beyond disappointed. Before our entrées, we were given the wrong appetizer which was taken a back. We ended up getting the correct appetizer half way through our entrées. After this, we never really had our servers attention, our waters were only filled up once and trying to get the check later felt like a chore. When we did receive the check, it came out on 2 separate bills with no pen, so I had to ask the table next to us for theirs. Finally, this morning I received an alert email about my bank account, and on checking, I realized I was also charged for a $55 check, which was then voided and I was then charged for our check (or checks), now totaling over $140. I was never aware of this mistake. After calling to make a complaint about the service I received, I was told they are sorry that happened, and I could hopefully see my money returned by Tuesday morning, over 2 days later. There was no attempt to make any sort of amends. Considering this was my first time at dining at a Not Your Average Joe's, I could never, in good conscious, recommend any establishment that provides such lackluster services to a friend or colleague, but I am 10/10 going to recommend staying away. To my understanding this is how it all happened: Worst waiter I have ever had: is this your first time dining with us? A Excited and hungry me: Yes! Worst waiter I have ever had: Alright, well buckle up for the worst experience you're ever going to have. Honesty, you should change your name to Below Average Joe's so nobody...

I called to double check that I could still place an order 30 minutes before close and they confirmed that it wouldn’t be an issue. I ordered two bowls of soup (which is a family favorite so we can never get just one bowl, would 100% recommend) and a Smoky Joe Burger cooked well done. The crispy onion strings were soggy and soft but it was the end of the night so I assumed it wouldn’t be fresh, completely understandable. My issue occurred when I got a few bites into the burger and realized it was undercooked. I can understand if there is a bit of pink, I’m not that picky, but this was clearly a rush to just be done with the night. (See picture attached) I’ve never had issues with food making me feel sick but I did see some of the burger again later in the evening while I was stuck in the bathroom.
I went back the next day to request a refund and the manager refunded the burger but seemed like he could not have cared less. I don’t know if he was having a hard day, all of us do occasionally, but it felt as though serving a guest undercooked food could have been less of a priority for him.
As someone who has worked in the Not Your Average Joes company and this location specifically it disappoints me that the standards have gotten so low as to hardly care when a customer has an issue with their food (especially something that made me sick). It used to be that we were taught to empathize with the customer and do everything we could to provide outstanding service —it’s what set NYAJ apart from other restaurants, but it doesn’t seem to be the...
Read moreI Went in for a what was supposed to be a joyous celebration that turned completey terrible, I was with a party of kids that just graduated from an Elementary School Graduation, I sat at a seperate table with a party of 4 people, and the 2 other tables of friends and kids, total 3 tables with 2 servers, we placed our order promptly upon arriving because it was late in the evening, I placed a order for Steak bites and asked to sub the mash potatoes for broccolli, fast forward my family got thier meals and finished and was given several apologies as to why I never got my meal , my meal was NOT made apparenlty the "screen went blank" and the order got missed, that translated to me getting my food 45 mins after sitting down to eat, I am a diabetic and need to eat my meals promptly because of medication, when my meal finally arrived it was completey wrong, the steak was smothered in mashed potatoes and at this point I had to leave because I had not eaten and I needed more medication, I was offered to remove the meal from my bill that was extremely late and wrong, and excuses was given, Bottom line it never makes anyone happy to hear excuses, it should always be solutions, and to add salt to the wound the manager decided to ADD a higher tip amount to the other tables that ate in our party because she did not like my tip, the worst dining expierence I have had in a long time, this place needs training on customer service, I will never go back and make sure everyone I know will hear...
