Nino's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in North Brunswick Township

I used to come to this pizzeria many years ago, but I'm not sure if it's the same owners or if it's the same exact pizzeria but they used to have amazing garlic knots and recently I drove by there so I thought let me grab some lunch, specifically the garlic knots that I remember so vividly. I ordered pick-up online and looked at the reviews and saw how great the grandma pie was, but I made the mistake of ordering the "drunken" grandma pie not realizing there's a difference because the descriptions of the pie does not mention vodka sauce on their 3rd party pick-up order website. I would've never spent $35 on a pie if I had known it had vodka sauce on it as I'm a fan of vodka sauce, just not on pizza. By the time I got home to eat it, I did not like it at all, so I had to hide the vodka taste with the side of tomato sauce that I had received for my garlic knots and it tasted pretty good then, but nothing impressive. The garlic knots were pretty good and basic, but definitely not what I remember. To be fair it's probably been about 20 years since I last ate at this place so I don't know if it's the actual right place that I used to get garlic knots from or maybe the owner's changed. The garlic knots were perfectly fine, they just were nothing exceptional. The positive reviews also mention the Cheesesteak pizza and this was as impressive as the reviews say. I only got one slice, which I still have leftovers for, but the taste is something like an Italian sausage and pepper sandwich and pizza combined. I would like to go back and try the actual grandma pie (start with a slice this time) and I will definitely be back for the cheesesteak pizza. I feel like their garlic knots are something one could get at any pizzeria so I probably wouldn't re-order that. Food is always good, people are friendly the only problem I had is outside of this. Today when I paid I used my debit card instead of paying cash like I have every other time this was around 12:15pm today. The employee made a big deal about it being a NASA Card (my mom worked at Nasa & I have had an account there since 10th grade) By 1:30pm someone had attempted to use my card for a $1,339 AT&T purchase that was declined three times then used some Delta D account to charge $799.60 and unfortunately the second attempt work. I just came from the location and and all I had was smoke blown up my but. Either an employee or patron did something and they have a camera inside the store but was told the owner has the key. If the owner would just let me know when he will be there I will show up and we can handle this like gentlemen. I have been going to this place for over 5 years and work near by. For the record the card has been cancelled and NASA is tracking where charges are being attempted from. All of the 5 stars are coming from people that grew up on this place . Kinda like saying my grandma cooks the best food in the world … This place is by far the best in northbrunswick. You got Cristos on Livingston ave Sals hidden lake and a couple others. Tony is extremely narcissistic amongst other things I won’t get into . The wife and youngest son is no better . I remember being there a while back and the younger Daniel disrespected a female worker like really bad and Tony let it happen . Thank god another customer jumped in defending the worker . I’ve heard him also call his employees names .
