Update- never got our refund as promised. We had to dispute charges thru our CC. Nice paying $30 for ice cream you never received while waiting over 45 minutes for it and not one apology for the slow and cold service we received. Goodbye Andy's!
Update to this as I just got off the phone w them, explained the entire situation(I was very nice, because I'm not one to be mean nor do I like confrontation) to the person on the phone(who said he was a manager) and NOT ONCE did he apologize. All he said was we can either make it again or offer you a refund. I said I'd like the refund please. He took my info, i said you can look up my order? He confirmed he can look it up because I get points and rewards w the app, and HUNG UP after I said great thank you. Not an apology, not I'm so sorry this happened, not I'd like to try and make it right, I'll speak to my employees, NOTHING. I am so disappointed right now. This place used to be amazing. One of the best customer services, ice cream was always given quickly and mixed well, but now they lost a very long time customer. Apparently this is very common the last few months. here's my review...
We've been going to Andy's for 5 years now. Always amazing service and ice cream. One of our favorites places. Until tonight and last visit. Last few times we have been there, the service has been excruciatingly slow and most of the staff very cold and unfriendly. Last visit, they missed one of our orders, and had to confirm what I asked for, then hurriedly made it and that night i experienced the worst food poisoning i ever experienced. I almost considered the ER. We had eaten somewhere else before, so i can't say if it was def andys, BUT, no one else got sick except me that night and 5 other people ate the same food. I was the only one who had peanut butter in my ice cream as well and i suspect it was that. Most of the time, staff is incredibly kind and nice to talk to. I don't know if it's under new management or short staffed or what but it's been very disappointing and we will no longer be going. Tonight sealed it.
We went thru the drive thru and there was only one car in front of us and one behind us. We place our order and then we are told to move ahead and they would bring it out. In all our 5 years of going there, this was the first time they ever did that. Even when the line was wrapped around the building and into the main road leading into their parking lot, we still got our order at the window. We pull ahead, then 5 min later we parked. FIFTEEN MINUTES later, they bring out an order. Except it wasn't ours. She insisted one of the cups was one of our orders but I wasn't convinced. I took it anyway even tho I questioned it. She insisted, and then left to get our order. I tasted it and it was not anything any of us had ordered. FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER, another girl comes out and asks us what we ordered(really???). We tell her our order AGAIN. She leaves. Not ONCE did any of the workers apologize for the delay or offer any compensation for our wait time. We sat there ANOTHER 15 MINUTES. No one came out to give us our order. Cars in spots next to us kept leaving and we waited. My kids had to use the bathroom so we wound up leaving WITH NO ICE CREAM. I will be calling them tomorrow for a full refund and if they refuse we will be disputing the charges on our card. Super disappointed and we will never be back. Again, it was one of our favorite places, and now it's not. I hope they continue to do well, but I also hope they fix this issue because they will lose a lot of...
Read moreMy family and I love Andy's. We have been to several incredible locations across the United States with caring staff and delicious sundaes and were looking forward to trying this location. However, we were severely disappointed by what we experienced here. This place should be ashamed to call themselves an Andy's when all they do is tarnish the reputation of the franchise and must be shut down immediately for not only the poor service but also the threat it creates towards public health. When we arrived, we had to wait a ridiculously fifteen minutes for our order to be taken while the eight girls in the building were chatting in the back and snacking on the frozen custard despite the growing line of people behind us. None of them were wearing gloves like the employees at the other locations typically do, so the grime and leftovers were visible underneath their nails. Similarly, their aprons were stained as if they had not been washed in days. Despite the unsanitary kitchen environment and long wait, we decided to give them a go, figuring they were most likely overwhelmed and struggling on a busy day. We were approached at last when the window slammed open, and one of the girls rolled her eyes and barked at us, "What do you want?" Her sour face showed she was clearly offended that we had the audacity to interrupt her impromptu lunch break. After we placed our orders, we were forced to wait another 15 minutes for our frozen custard to be served because another young lady who was in charge of preparing it decided to go outside to her car in the parking lot and smoke with a friend. For that sort of laziness and lack of effort towards their jobs, it would be a wise decision for the manager to fire all of them and save themselves some money. Once the woman returned from the parking lot, she began on our frozen custard without even bothering to wash her filthy, tobacco stained hands. Finally, our orders were complete, but we were not given any napkins and spoons to assist us in eating it as we had been before. In fact, we were forced to return to ask for napkins and spoons which were basically thrown at us by the same passive aggressive cashier. When we tried our stolen brownie Sundays, we quickly realized that regardless of the 20 dollars my husband paid for them, they were not worth finishing. The sundaes my daughter, husband, and I got had brownies that were as hard as rocks, strong enough to chip a tooth on and at least three days old. They barely had any toppings such as the pecans or hot fudge that come with them and absolutely no cherries. Most of the frozen custard in them was already melted as if it had been left out for them to eat while they worked. As we were dumping out what were practically milkshakes, we observed there were swarms of flies hovering above and inside the garbage cans that were full to the brim, making it nearly impossible to properly fit even another cup into them. Does nobody here care enough to do small as taking out the trash? After visiting this Andy's, my family none of us will be returning here, and we recommend anyone reading this review does not support...
Read moreI’d like to start by saying Andy’s is the best frozen custard I’ve had I prefer them over Dairy Queen sonic and so many other frozen treat locations. I’ve patronized dislocation several times, and each experience has been great. Even when the general manager was the only person at this location for a few hours due to make sure of that the service was still remarkable now let’s get into reason my review today, add patronized Cornelius location as well in between the two Cornelius carries different flavors that are my favorite. However they aren’t available at this Concord location and every time I ask I’m told that they are either out of product or it is a seasonal treat. Strawberries are summer treats cheesecake is a great dessert, why on earth would they not continue to carry the graham? This flavor is amazing only available at Cornelius unfortunately. I have to drive 45 minutes to Cornelius compared to a 25 minute drive to Concord just to have this flavor. I think that management should consider adding the Graham back to its menu permanently. The second reason for my review is, I was excited to see that Andy’s offered flavored I thought that they would be filled with fruit and a staple however what I was greeted with some sort of Tylenol, flavored strawberry, sweet tea. It was terrible I expected more from Andy’s than a simple strawberry syrup inside of an unsweetened tea the amount of syrup in the bottom of the cup glided throughout the drink, which is still sitting in my cup holder. I would like to suggest that Andy scraps the strawberry syrup and others like it, and exchange it for fruit real fruit. I gave this location of four because a lot of this is based upon self preference, but I feel that there may be others who can relate, especially with the artificially flavored, sweet tea that was just terrible and again it is still sitting in My cupholder is full as it was when I paid for...
