Clean Eatz — Restaurant in North Carolina

Worst place ever! If I could give no stars I would. Do not waste your money going here. They are too expensive to have such bad service and food. I went in to try their cafe menu. This was my first time ever visiting and will most certainly be my last. The young girl behind the counter acted as if she had a problem with me perusing the menu, but there was literally no one else in there. This should have been my first clue. 🚩 The middle aged woman was friendly enough, she began to explain the menu which was a bit helpful. I told her I did not eat meat so she suggested the bowl option with veggies. She told me they had a black bean burger option for protein. I asked if it contained egg, yeast or sugar, because I could not have it if so due to my dietary restrictions. She checked with the kitchen and informed me it contained sugar and yeast, so I declined it. The young girl behind the register witnessed this entire conversation because there was no one else in line. When I placed my order with the young girl, I ordered potatoes as the base, the root vegetables, broccoli , zucchini and black beans for protein per the menu. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries. I received my food, and when I looked in the tray, there was a black bean burger in there. I asked the middle-age woman if this was the same burger we had just discussed and she told me it was. I told her I only ordered black beans, not the burger. She said that it was actually the same thing as on the menu, and apologized because she realized it was a bit confusing. 😒 By this time I had to leave because I had an appointment. She offered to change it out, but there was just no time. I’m trying to understand if I already had declined to eat the black bean burger why would the younger girl not say anything knowing it was the same item, even though it was worded as just black beans on the menu?! Then to make matters worse, the food was bland and undercooked, fries soggy and I found two random torn up pieces of turkey bacon in my bowl! They literally heard me say I don’t eat meat so I feel that was placed there purposefully. It wasn’t even a whole piece, it was just 2 ripped up pieces like it was placed there deliberately. Needless to say, I will never be back again, and I feel like I deserve a full refund because the service and the food was just awful. I didn’t even eat it as I was disappointed and disgusted. I recently tried the Lamb Pie at Cleaneatz, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The flavors in this dish were incredible. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the pastry was perfectly flaky.

What I appreciate most about Cleaneatz is their commitment to providing wholesome and clean ingredients. It's not often you find a place that offers such delicious comfort food while still focusing on health.

The portion size was generous, and it left me feeling satisfied without that heavy, guilty feeling you sometimes get after indulging in a pie. It's clear that they put a lot of care and thought into their menu.

The service was also top-notch - friendly and attentive staff that made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

It’s not often I go out of my way to write a review but in this case I had to. I visited Clean Eatz because I was recommended by a friend and decided to go with a 20 piece meal plan. I was very unfortunate enough to have dealt with Jennifer at the register when checking out. Not only was Jennifer extremely rude to me she was yelling and treating her employees extremely disrespectful right in front of me and other customers. When checking me out she told me there was an unknown surcharge amount for credit card use. The initial amount I was told was $153 for the meals and then after the use of my credit card I was charged $208! $55 add on that I was not aware of. I was at a loss of words and Jennifer explained that it was just the credit card surcharge, this is extremely sketchy business. On top of all of this I was short 5 meals! I will definitely not be returning especially if Jennifer is presented at the register. Wish I could give 0 stars for this scam...
