Only reason I gave it two stars is because the service was amazing. The server, Vanessa was absolute sweetheart. The food on the other hand was an absolute disappointment. First red flag was the salsa that shouldn’t even be considered salsa. I’ve never had salsa was repulsing as the one that was served here. I’ve had my bad share of salsas but it tasted like canned red salsa or something. Super sour and bitter. Brushed it off, got queso dip to cleanse our palette. Figured it was just a way to upsell on queso. We put in our order and the speed was good and the presentation was a bit off putting for what we got but that didn’t stop us. I figured that wouldn’t impact the taste. Now, the flavors itself were unpleasant. The beans were weirdly over-seasoned, the rice wasn’t cooked properly. It was 3 of us and we all had an issue with the flavor of the food so it’s not a personal preference. As a Mexican myself, this is far from authentic. We were all extremely disappointed, especially since the ratings seemed to make this place really promising. I might come off strong but I am giving my honest opinion. I will give props to you guys trying to do things differently and I do see the culinary influence but the most important thing is flavor and taste rather than presentation. Hope you guys take this into consideration. Thank you...
Read moreThis is a surprising little restaurant. It is a fresh Mexican food concept. The concept is based on California Mexican recipes. No frozen or out of the can foods here. The tacos are fresh with a variety of meats and vegetables. The Empanadas, Fajitas and Burritos and well proportioned fillings to wraps. Plate presentations are excellent and add an element of excitement to the food. Quality is never compromised and there is great value here. The bar offerings, especially the house margaritas, really help customers wind down at the end of the day. The service team at Tequila Comida definitely contribute to this excellent dining experience. The servers are attentive, easily answer all menu questions, keep glasses filled and visit their tables often. Guests will not have to look for their servers here. This team is very customer focused and work hard to create a great dining experience for every customer every visit. The Covid crisis has created a number of difficult, and unique, problems for our area restaurants. The team at Tequila Comida has worked hard to get through the crisis and keep their brand successful. We all have been encouraged to support our local businesses. Tequila Comida is well worth a visit and certainly deserves our local support. Stop by soon. You will not be disappointed. THE...
Read moreNice clean festive environment. Friendly employees, for the most part. I came in because I was mailed a $10 gift certificate from them in a "welcome to the neighborhood packet" we received when we moved here. I went to use it. The woman said it was expired even though there was no expiration date. She let me use it anyway. I ordered a beef chimichanga. She said I couldn't just order that. I needed to spend more if I was going to use that (it doesn't say you have to spend a certain amount, just that you can't use it on alcohol) so she gave it back to me. I said I could just order more food. She said ok. So I ordered the beef chimichanga and the tres leches cake. I usually order chicken chimichangas and don't not why I decided with beef this time but wish I went with chicken. The beef was pretty dry. The flavors were good though. It's the first time I've had rice in a chimichanga. It was good. It was big so took me 2 days to finish. They also include a small bags of chips and 2 types of salsa. I didn't like either salsa. The green was really spicy and the red had an odd taste. The tres leches cake was nice. I'd go back for sure. I'm glad I got that gift certificate because otherwise I probably wouldn't have...
