We have always enjoyed Local Scoop!!! My daughter is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and egg so we have always appreciated the extra step that the employees took for my daughters safety (separate scoops and getting her flavor from the back to avoid cross-contamination). Unfortunately I feel this allergy safety is not understood by all employees anymore - we went to local scoop this afternoon and my daughter wanted to try 2 flavors (key lime and blood orange sorbet) that were not listed on their allergy ingredient wall. When I asked the employee about the ingredients she said “I am pretty sure those are ok! But if you want to be 100% sure she should get a different flavor!” She didn’t offer to ask another employee, she didn’t even look at the recipe - she did nothing! We are very disappointed and I don’t know how comfortable I am with continuing to go to Local Scoop if they don’t understand the severity of...

First, the good. Very friendly staff, and very generous helpings. However, I wasn’t thrilled about the choices - nothing with any nuts; would have like Rocky Road, but no luck. No pistachio, and no strawberry. I settled for Dutch Chocolate, which was good. My wife wanted Coffee, but had to settle for Vanilla. It was fine once she got past the top layer with ice crystals giving the ice cream a crunch.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find the prices high. $4.99 plus tax for one scoop albeit a generous one? I also find the practice of turning the screen around with choices of $1, $2, or custom tip irritating. I know a lot of places do it, but I dislike being put on the spot; the large jar with a large enough sign saying “tips not expected but appreciated”...

I have been going to the Local Scoop for ice cream for years now and always it has had fantastic service and delicious flavors including some coconut based (non milk) ones that taste great!

I just read several of the reviews and gotta say, wow folks, we are just making it through a pandemic! That they managed to stay open, kept optimistic and kept making great ice cream says a lot! I give them credit for being hard working good people who are doing their best to provide a nice treat despite the chaos of the last year or so!

I support local businesses where I can and nope, I am not related to them or have any business interest with them. What I do have is compassion and gratitude for their hard work, perseverance and I love their...

We came here when we were looking for dessert in the area. I got a scoop of key lime pie and a scoop of banana pudding in a waffle cone and my husband got a salted caramel ice cream panini with caramel sauce and graham cracker crumbs. The key lime pie was very dry and dense — the texture seemed off. The banana pudding and panini were both pretty good. Everything is local focused which is cool, but that comes at a hefty price. We paid about $15 for the two things we got and I definitely didn't think it was worth the price. I think the other local shops in Charlotte have ice cream that's better for a cheaper price. If I ignored the price, I'd probably come back again, but with how expensive it was, I'd rather get dessert elsewhere.

Called and placed an order for an ice cream cake. The employee (Will?) was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure the cake could be made in the time frame we discussed. Even better the "birthday cake" ice cream cake was amazing. Love the philosophy this shop operates on and you can taste the results in their products.
